Myself, my three young daughters and my 80 year old aunt spent a glorious break in this stunning cottage. Where do I start....? How do I even begin to do this cottage credit...?! All I can say is this cottage is nestled in the valley and it feels like you have stepped back in time; calves in the calf house, pony in the field, cows and sheep grazing, a flock of hens and rooster, and of course, the cat at the front door!! As soon as I entered the house I was desperate to rebook for as soon as possible. Within an hour my elderly aunt was feeding the hens!! I couldn't get the girls in long enough to feed them. The cottage has been renovated to modern requirements without sacrificing the ambience. Subtle pastel shades in the bedrooms, soft floral prints, a homely feel with a feel of luxury! All you could ever need-and ensuite for both bedrooms (you would never guess). The turf house was well stocked, a complementary bottle of wine chilled, hospitality tea and pancakes ready-talk about being spoiled. As regards the host, Isabella was a friend within minutes; open, friendly, obliging and welcoming! She takes such pride in her ancestral home and you can feel the sense of peace and love as soon as you enter. This cottage is perfect for anyone wanting to escape the bustle of life, it's a trip down memory lane for the elderly as this is the type of homestead my aunt was reared it, it's a safe and educating environment for children as they can interact with the animals and lock the hens in at night....! I can't wait to my next break in November and then I'll be back over Christmas; it's a form of therapy! The host Isabella doesn't know this but my girls were giving each other wheelbarrow rides around the yard (don't tell her.....lol)xxx
This cottage was excellent. Isabella was there to greet us and was very helpful, friendly and caring and left us wine bread and milk etc which we did not expect. She could not do enough for us. The facilities in the house were excellent and to a very high standard throughout. This is a perfect place to stay in this area especially for families as Isabella has lots of animals about the farmyard and also a Shetland Pony. We were a family of 4 adults and loved the place and would highly recommend this.
What a great weekend we had staying at the cottage. A warm welcome from Isabella & her husband. Everything supplied to make stay comfortable home from home. Our son Jason had a fab time helping with the lambs, feeding the animals. We shall be back soon. 100%
Pat Larry's cottage is without doubt a joy to visit and stay. Isabella, the owner and her husband Jen will ensure that your stay in this beautiful warm and cosy cottage will be remembered for a longtime. Their welcome was so warm. The cottage itself is spotless with bright modern decor. Both bedrooms have en-suite toilet/shower. I would highly recommend a visit to Pat Larry's and if I could have given a 10 star rating I would have. A real gem to visit.
From the moment we walked into Pat Larry's we felt right at home. The turf fire was burning and the teapot and cups on the table awaiting. What a welcome! This cottage has every amenity you could ever need. Full kitchen with dishwasher, 2 showers, washer & dryer and central heating. The cottage is located in a vista off the Greencastle road about 1.5 miles from the village of Greencastle. An ideal location at the foot of the Sperrin Mountains for a quiet holiday or an outdoor adventure. The morning views from the kitchen window are breathtaking. Isabella Mc Kenna is the perfect hostess! She greeted us with open arms and took the time to explain how the appliances worked and answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend Pat Larry's to anyone looking to get away for a relaxing break or someone looking to explore the beautiful trails and history of the surrounding area. We'll be back Isabella! We have just returned from spending four nights in the cottage, the cottage was beautiful inside it had all the requirements needed, the cottage is set in a beautiful area of countryside. We were met by one of the nicest and friendliness people you could meet, Isabella, who is so proud and passionate about the cottage, she was very welcoming and had a nice roaring fire burning and had the kettle on when we arrived. We had a very nice relaxing time in a beautiful cottage set in the beautiful scencic countryside. Thank you Isabella, we definitely will be back. Julie, Maureen, Nancy, Stuart & the two dogs.
This place is very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The owner is very kind and makes you feel a VIP. The only negative thing is that it is quite difficult to find, probably impossible if you don't have a navigation system, but anyway it is worth a visit!
