Owner description: The largest fresh-water loch in the United Kingdom.

We drove to many small villages and vistas around the Loch . ie . Firkin Point and others .
Plenty of opportunities to buy locally made glass items , woolens , ties and tartans . Friendly locals were all keen to help and assist with informative questions from sightseeing , food , right down to a decent priced barber I needed .
Car parking is variable ranging from free at some places so best check first before walking off somewhere .It was ending August to early September and important to be prepared for changeable weather .We'll be back again to discover more !

Amazing site of Scotland. Not only the biggest lake of the country, but also has an unique geological situation. We decided to come back here on our honeymoon - that tells it all. :)

You can just as easily walk out to the mouth of the lake in about 10 minutes and there is a pebble beach, yachting area etc all nearby! lovely stuff!

The bus stop and car park are both right next to an information point that will show you the path gladly!

just saved you £10 each!

Absolutely stunning, just as I remembered as a child, the only difference is there is no Lone Piper playing. A beautiful walk stunning scenery. Attraction is free but may have to pay for parking

We booked this campsite as our base for the weekend. 3 of us took part in the Great Scottish Swim.
The campsite is beautifully situated and we were lucky enough to be able to pitch with a stunning view of the Loch. The facilities were great, toilet and shower block was clean (although perhaps a more substantial mop for the guests to mop the shower floors after use could be recommended).
There were lots of ground rules, some did seem a little bizarre but nothing that would make me look elsewhere to pitch next time - these rules have obviously been put in place from past experiences.
Would definitely stay there again.
