Booked this hotel at last minute direct with them and on the phone the were very nice. Confirmation email within minutes. Paid £80 for our room, parked in the nearby Park Inn @£12 for 24hrs. The hotel was very clean, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable bed. The pole in the middle of the room was a talking point! (Room 306). Breakfast prompt and cooked in full view and also very good. Location means you are at the top end of union street, close to nice Italian restaurants and a great location for shopping. Best value hotel we have found in Aberdeen and we will be back. Note - has its own restaurant which we did not use but many others did.

This hotel is the place to stay when you are visiting Aberdeen. Very friendly staff, can't do enough for you. The hotel is lovely, very clean. Our bedroom was very comfortable with all mod coms and a great shower. Breakfast was good with plenty variety.Hotel is within walking distance to shops. An enjoyable stay and will be returning the next time we are visiting Aberdeen.

Because of the oil business Aberdeen has many over-priced hotels who couldn't care less
about their value/quality/service as there is a never-ending glut of business travellers 'on expenses'.

What seperates the Bauhaus from all these other places though is that you actually get what you pay for here. Very nice place which I can't recommend highly enough.
I work offshore and have stayed in enough places in Aberdeen while attending courses etc to say that if I had to pick anywhere in the city to stay it would have to be here, everytime.

Rooms are superb, WiFi is excellent, location is slap bang in the middle of town. Breakfast is ace, I'm
struggling to think of one down side......Will definitely be back again.

I stayed here for two nights on work - a great location round the back of Union St (behind where Bruce Millers used to be). As others say, the hotel is contemporary and boutique but the rooms are a good size (I stayed in 211 which is actually a twin room) and there was a large table to work at your laptop etc. (happily, I can confirm the wifi was free and worked perfectly)

The room had no windows but two skylights with blinds operated by a remote control (the ceilling was extremely high). A large flatscreen TV, even a fridge, which was stocked with two bottles of water and otherwise empty - leaving plenty of space for your own items. Very cold at first but once you slide up the thermostat on the radiator the room warms up quickly.

My only slight gripe was the bathroom. The walk-in shower is great but there is no door to keep water in the shower area - it will go all over the place meaning you'll have to use towels unnecessarily to keep the floor dry.

It would also be nice to have an iPod dock in the room, other contemporary hotels are offering this and it would be a welcome addition.

The layout of the hotel is a little unusual. From reception, I had to go up to the second floor and through the breakfast/restaurant area (where there was always cooking smells lingering) and through a set of doors that took me into a corridor leading to the second floor rooms. The cooked breakfast itself was very nice but as others have said there was less choice available in the cereal buffet than you might expect.

Lastly, if you're looking for a nice place to eat - try Aperitivo which is just a stone's throw away on Bon Accord St. We walked around late at night looking for a restaurant that was still open - the kitchens had closed in most of them - and were welcomed here with open arms. Despite it being almost empty, we learned that it was their opening night! We enjoyed an Italian 'tapas' menu - all very fresh and good quality, and a welcome change to carb-heaby pizza and pasta.

In summary, I'd happily stay here again - although I'd hope to get a better price next time - all hotels in Aberdeen are expensive!

I stayed at the Bauhaus for 7 nights on a business trip to Aberdeen and I was very impressed with the hotel. It is in a very central location and the quality of the service was very high.

I was in one of the suites and it was excellent, with lots of space, a very comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Based on comments I have heard from others who were staying there some of the rooms are very loud, especially the ones that look down on Union Street. My suite (Bauhaus) was very quiet as it looks in on an inner courtyard but every time a door would open or close in the hall it sounds like it is right next to you.

The breakfast in the morning was nice and there were many different items to choose from.

Overall, the Bauhaus is an excellent choice for a stay in central Aberdeen. I would happily return.

We stayed overnight and had a fantastic time at this hotel. We arrived and were made very welcome. The room was lovely. Really well equipped and comfy. There is a contemporary design which works very well throughout the hotel.
The restaurant followed the same contemporary feel with an open kitchen and the food was just delicious. The set menu was great value for money and the cocktails a delight!
And when I forgot my toothbrush..... sorted!

My wife and daughter stayed here for 2 nights and found it a fantastic centrally located hotel. Ideal for families with students at university in aberdeen to visit them .They were in a room on the second floor near rear of hotel and they had a quiet very comfortable two nights sleep.A very modern hotel where service and quality go hand in hand. The breakfasts were well cooked from fresh and most enjoyable. We will definately return!
