“Great Hotel”

Booked hotel for friends to stay and they said it was one of the best hotels that they have ever stayed in!

Great friendly staff, room and breakfast with good choices for vegetarians.

Huge thanks to Alan and the evening staff for arranging taxis and recommending places to eat. All staff an asset!

This is an unusual hotel due to its decor and layout, but overall very good. Great location and free wifi throughout.
We stayed in the Gropius Suite and it is a longish walk from the 2nd floor lift exit if you are carrying a few bags. The walk takes you through the restaurant, down a couple of steps, along a corridor and then up three flights of stairs to the room. The room however was amazing, nice and large with a huge bathroom, huge double shower, his and her sinks, massive bed (yes it's two large singles pushed together, but this is an old Aberdeen building and you would struggle to get a super king size bed through the quaint corridors). The room does face out onto Union Street but we didn't find it noisy at all.
The decor is different, but we liked it - I don't agree that it has an Ikea feel it's just pleasingly distinctive.
The staff were very helpful throughout our stay, breakfast was good with cereals, cooked breakfast, fresh juices, toast - perfect.
The hotel has no onsite parking but there is a NCP car park 100 yards away underneath the Park Inn hotel that will cost £12 for 24hrs.
I stay in Aberdeen 3-4 times per year and this is where I will stay from now on, it's cheaper than its competitors and for me...better.
Well Done Bauhaus - loved our stay!

Great last minute overnight stay at the Aberdeen branch of this simple and funky hotel. Managed a great deal on a superior room for the same standard price, huge room with remote skylights and blinds. Initially odd not having windows around the room but the view of blue skies (rare in Aberdeen!) and passing clouds was a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
Sound nights sleep in comfy big bed and a fantastic rainfall shower with great toiletries
Tasty fresh breakfast much enjoyed
Look forward to a future return!!!

Booked this lovely hotel due to location just off Union St. So glad we stayed here, as there were many other hotels in the same area. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by the most helpful Duty Manager ( thank you for our lovely coffee) and we were not disappointed with our room. Our room was on the 3rd floor, front facing and able to watch the world go by. The room decor is very modern and quirky, which we love....something different and very refreshing. Very impressed with the en-suite and the shower is to die for, just wonderful.

In the evening the street/area is very busy with bars and restaurants, but that was not an issue for us....once your windows are shut, you hardly hear a thing. We slept like babies.

The hotel bar is small and quaint with lovely decor, a great place for drinks with a good atmosphere. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back. A credit to Bob Fitzgerald.x

Last but not least, breakfast was awesome.

I stayed at the Bauhaus (room 103) on a business trip to Aberdeen. It was significantly cheaper than other hotels in which I have stayed in Aberdeen, with more comfort and quirks than elsewhere.

Free wifi was provided in the hotel, which worked more than well enough to support a skype video call. The bed was huge and super comfortable, and the TV had an accessible hdmi connection to hook up my tablet to watch TV shows of my choice.

Breakfast was cooked fresh to order in the morning and served quickly and with a smile.

I would happily stay here again, either for work or for leisure.

Just back from a weekend break in the Granite City. Best things about our stay were the comfortable room (Fitzgerald) with an enormous 7ft wide bed and great shower, the cooked to order before your eyes hot breakfast and the mostly friendly staff. Not so good were the poor room soundproofing (both internal and external) and little details, like low grade orange juice and pretty much the cheapest paper serviettes you can buy at the breakfast table. The cold breakfast buffet was poor.....but the cooked breakfasts made up for that. The Fitzgerald room overlooks Union Street and to be fair we were warned when we booked to expect some noise but, boy, does Aberdeen let its hair down on Friday and Saturday nights (Sunday night was much quieter). Not recommended if you're a light sleeper.

Room Tip: The Fitzgerald room has an enormous 7ft wide bed and great shower. Not recommended if you're a l...

The rooms are stylish and well furnished. As a smaller hotel the Bauhaus feels more friendly than the nearby big chain hotels. The only issue is the restaurant which was completely empty apart from myself.
