“Good Hotel, Very Friendly Staff”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

The Bauhaus Hotel is a nice accommodation in the heart of Aberdeen. The rooms were very clean and modern and exceeded my expectations for a three star hotel. While centrally located, the neighborhood may give you pause, but it turned out to be fine. Public parking is located across the street and was fairly cheap considering.

I stayed at this hotel for the second time now and am delighted that the high standards have been maintained.
I was warmly welcomed at reception and made my way to the Standard room I booked. The room was clean and there were a few luxury touches added like the nespresso coffee maker and smart tv. There was no bath but I didn't miss this as the shower was massive! A particular issue insome hotels for me is there being only one batch of towels as I was the only guest in the room however I was pleased to see two batches of white fluffy towels were supplied.
Breakfast was included in my room rate and the hot food was cooked to order and absolutely delicious....especially the poached eggs - perfectly done!
My room at the rear of the hotel was a bit noisy around midnight as there are a few pubs around but that came as no surprise as the location right in the centre of Aberdeen is excellent. If you're looking for a super-quiet night then maybe one of the hotels in the outlying areas would suit better. For me, however, the Bauhaus has been an excellent find and I'll most certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front with a view of Union Street are quieter

Went to the Scottish Open Golf tournament in Aberdeen. Stayed for 3 nights in the Bauhaus. Hotel is well located for public transport connections and for main Aberdeen shopping area when not at the golf, also good range of restaurants nearby. Staff were super friendly and helpful, Room was very clean, comfortable and pretty. Breakfast was really good with a good range of continental or cooked food. Cooked offering is made fresh for each customer which was great. Would always use this hotel when in Aberdeen.

The rooms are good, but there is no air conditioning, which means the rooms are hot. To address this I opened the window. When I came back in later that evening the noise was building and by 2 am I was still awake due to the nightclub directly across the road. I got up and closed the window, only to be woken about 5 by the heat, opened window again, only for bin men to arrive, eventually just got up at 6am after little sleep. I reported it reception and was told "that's what you get in a city". I have to disagree as I have stayed in Aberdeen numerous times before and not had this problem. Ask for an inside room, it might be better, but I won't be staying again.

Reasonably priced, by Aberdeen standards. Well located for the city centre and interesting styling that is a welcome change when using corporate hotels all the time.

My room was very hot and had limited ventilation. May not be a common problem as the weather was hot, which is not exactly common in Aberdeen.

Cooked element of the breakfast was very good, but buffet was very ordinary.

This place is excellent and by far the best hotel I have stayed in Aberdeen, I'm just gutted I didn't find it sooner! Nice breakfast, rooms are modern and spacious, complimentary water in room, excellent rain shower... I can't fault it. Staff were friendly and check in was great asking if I needed a taxi in the morning, very helpful!
