“Below average”

Stayed here for two nights for work.

The hotel is below average in many areas. The rooms are very basic with poor climate control. The breakfast was woeful, one of the worst I have seen for many years. My room was not cleaned one of the days I stayed and when I informed reception they barely seemed to care. Meals in the restaurant are over priced.

Overall, this hotel is pricey for what they offer to guests. I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the street facing the night club!

This is a beautiful hotel and situated very nicely in the centre of Aberdeen just off Union Street. The rooms are very nice indeed and comfortable with free WiFi. BUT....as this was booked at less than 1 week notice I was left with no option but to pay the ridiculously high room tariff of £248 for B&B. My points of disappointment were the cold temperature of the room, cold shower in the morning (with soap dispenser on wall like a budget hotel) and a decidedly average breakfast. This is not what you expect when you pay this amount for a hotel room. Interestingly I stayed in Manchester the following evening at a competitor's hotel with a very comfortable and cosy room, lovely warm shower and a hearty breakfast for £129 which was significantly more enjoyable and better value by a long way. Please get your act together and set reasonable price levels as your product and consumer perception could be so much better!

Excellent modern hotel in the centre of Aberdeen and within a few minutes walk from some great bars. Conveniently across the road from a Wetherspoon if you're after a cheaper meal and drink option. Staff helpful but I was disappointed that they did not know anything about the Premium Internet Connection as featured on their website http://www.parkinn.co.uk/free-internet. The free connection that is included with the room is good enough for basic browsing and email but forget about streaming any multimedia content as it's capped to 1.5Mbps. Beds are good and firm.

The rooms are somewhat plain (although reasonably spacious), the beds not particularly comfortable, the breakfast average, and dinner can be rather poor. But nonetheless it is the Aberdeen hotel that I most frequently choose to stay in. Why? Because the location is convenient, the service is always polite and efficient, (in my experience) the charging is fair, and somehow it contrives to be much better than "the sum of its parts". Oh, and the recent revamp has made the reception and bar area much more welcoming.

Just stayed one night on a weekend break but would have happily stayed longer. The room was not ready at 2 pm and had to wait until 3pm but was able to leave luggage securely and happily sat in the outdoor garden area and lounge. The room was welcoming comfortable and clean with all usual amenities. The noise from the clubbers across the street at 1.30 am was perhaps a bit loud but i could see from the window that the club had been evacuated and the fire brigade were in attendance. The clubbing just continued in the street until they were all allowed back in. I suppose if you are wakened by noise then perhaps ask to be in a room not looking on to the street. The breakfast had a very good buffet choice with other items like porridge and poached or fried eggs that could be cooked to order. At 9.30am on a Sunday there was no problem with queues or service. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. I would look forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: Choose an upgraded room.

Stayed for 1 night, got a special deal from Itison.com for £59 breakfast included and a glass of fizz on arrival, with my husband and 2 children. Had to pay £10 extra for my daughters bed but was not charged any extra for my 2 yr old. Lovely clean hotel, friendly staff, breakfast was good and got it delivered to our room for no extra charge. Parking is a bit expensive but apart from that I could not fault this hotel, loved our overnight stay. Will definitely return.

I stayed at the Park Inn for six days in mid-September. I would not recommend it, nor would I return.

The street noise was a deal-breaker for me. Also, the parking issues (see below) were definitely annoying.

=======================================

Bad:

- If you have a car, I would avoid the Park Inn. The underground parking garage at the Park Inn is a public facility. On Friday and Saturday nights, the entire garage is taken up by people headed to the bars on Union Street. Also, the charges definitely add up at £12.00 per day.

- The street noise is awful. I was on the second floor and was woken several times by the party crowd as they headed home from the bars. I would avoid the Park Inn if you are a light sleeper or suffer from jet lag.

- The room did not come equipped with an iron or ironing board.

Good:

- There are plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shops within walking distance.

- Free Wi-Fi

Room Tip: Get a room on as high of a floor as possible - or just avoid this hotel.
