Having read the reviews of this hotel I tried to avoid staying here, but in the end I had no choice.
Believe all the poor reviews on here, they are all true.
The hotel is totally over priced for what it offers, and the standard is poor, at best.

The rooms are noisy : I could listen to the next door rooms tv clearly, and was woken by his alarm call as if it was in my room! The floor boards creak, badly, and the doors slam shut, very loudly at all hours of the night.

View from my window is non existent, see photo.

There's mould on the bathroom ceiling.
Bedside lamp is in poor condition and has a label on saying safety test due Dec 2012. It's now October 2013!

Parking at the hotel is very poor, with space for about 20 cars. I had to park at the back of the hotel and when I asked if the car would be safe there, the receptionist just laughed!

There's no ironing facilities in the room and no guide to the hotel. It'd be useful to have a copy of the menu and restaurant opening times.

On a positive note, the food isn't too bad, and the restaurant staff are friendly.

I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for two days last weekend. Firstly, after reading reviews here I went with an open mind. Check in was smooth and staff friendly, room was 331 at the front of the building facing the Station and union square shopping centre in spite of this it wasn't too noisy. The room was big and a bit dark, the toilet was raised on a plinth that was strange. Overall it was adeqate for or needs seems a bit overpriced however having said that most hotels in Aberdeen centre tend to be overpriced I feel.

Room was actually large enough but it smelt fusty, the curtians would not close and wallpaper was realing all over the place.

Room service is a joke - we asked for a number of things and nothing happened. We eventually got a hair dryer after we had to go and fetch it from four floors up

It is handy for the station so thats good and bathroom ok but otherwise does not merit its star rating

Room Tip: Don't come go elsewhere

The Station is the epitome of demand over reaching supply in Aberdeen. The cost of a room in this place shows the world has gone mad. The rooms are based on the hovel design which was popular before the slum clearances of the 50s and 60s. The breakfast buffet is testament to how the cheapest raw materials incinerated in a nuclear oven can never look appetising. If you have a choice don't come here. If you don't have a choice then hard luck.

Great hotel, parkings at a premium as there are not many spaces and a pain to get to but nice staffs and amazing food more than made up for it! The rooms have been recently upgraded and they feel great for it.

Check in was okay but no mention of what to do if charging to room. Room was very creaky floorboards probaly due to age of building. Corridor carpets required cleaning as did the tiles in the bathroom which could do with a bottle of Dettox to remove the scum. Had a meal which was average, unfortunately left a carrier bag with sweets in the room but no call to inform me so probably kept by the cleaner.
Good point was that it was next to train station as i had first train booked to Glasgow in the morning.

Room Tip: Nothing to add

We arrived late one afternoon by car in Aberdeen and I needed to stay somewhere close to the city to see some city sights in the morning. Aberdeen traffic is terrible so was keen to stay close to the centre...but everywhere but this place was booked. The location is great but it is expensive for what you get. Then again, other hotels were equally as pricey, so I think there is a supply/demand issue at work here. The WiFi was ok...but the room was crooked - the floors were not level to the point where it was a little vertigo-inducing. It was clean enough and breakfast was ok. The staff were a bit uninterested and I had no problem with them but could see how other reviewers got frustrated. I'd probably try other places first if/when I return to Aberdeen.
