welcome and surroundings really good but when it came to eating there was a mix up with the starter which left one person waiting for their choice. Then the main course was served and no meal was served to another guest, when asked where his meal was hotel staff were very unhelpful with no apology or meal being served.no manager in sight until meal was finished and missing meal was never served as staff insisted another guest must have taken it instead of their original choice, but staff never tried to find out why they had a plate returned to the kitchen if this was the case, and would not check to see if they had made a mistake with the orders.

Just back from a two day stay with family. We were treated like royalty the whole time we were there. The library with its open fire is an ideal place to chill with hot chocolate and cream scones. The rooms were clean and spacious and it was very nice to have a seperate bath and shower in the bathroom. The food at breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was nicely presented on the plate. would definately recomend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in aberdeen. Many thanks to all the staff again for a wonderfull couple of days.

Booked the hotel for my birthday and do not regret this decision for a second, when we arrived we were greeted by Lauren and Ashley on reception both of which were friendly and extremely helpful. The food was very good and the service by Zoltan was excellent, admittedly the dinning room has a lot of dark wood so with the lights dimmed can seem quite dark.

There was a wedding reception over the weekend but this did not affect the service we received at all we also never heard any noise, this may be due to the fact we were staying in 1 of the original parts of the hotel and the reception hall is in the extension.

We would happily go back to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Call a few days before arrival if you want to stay in the original part of the hotel

..... but we've tried really hard and managed to get you a room 35miles away with the ofer to pay the taxi one way. That's not the welcome i'd expect or have ever had in almost 20yrs of business travel. What made matters worse was that more than half of my party were told the same thing. Looks like a lovely hotel, but they seem happy to offload you to another hotel to satisy their "regular" Oil & Gas company customers.

Lovely hotel and grounds. Wedding meal was lovely but drinks at the bar rather expensive. Our room was very spacious an d was surprised to get a bath with seperate shower. Enjoyed our cooked breakfast and staff were very nice. Open fire at reception was a bit smokey. Would stay at this hotel again.

Just come back from a anniversary weekend at this hotel, oh my god what a horrendous experience, soon as we pulled up my husband who uses a wheelchair was told to get back in the car and move it as it was in the way for the wedding photography! Nice guy called jamie apologised to us but as soon as was in the room was called by reception to move the car again! we promptly said no. This hotel is only suitable for weddings, booming music from the reception on the friday and saturday night at 1am right into our room, complained and told we should not been given a room near the stairs but no resolution. The worse thing about this hotel was the food and the service says 4* but barely a 3! in the morning for breakfast was a nightmare, loads of wedding guests wanting breakfast, heaving dining room, waited 15 mins just for a cup of tea, thats before we even ordered our breakfast which took another 20 mins, just crazy totally understaffed in the kitchen and in the dining room, toast was cold and cooked breakfast barely warm. We had room service which was exactly the same, cold and late, we complained and this was not charged to our bill. This happened on both mornings and evenings, was also phoned by reception to say we had better book our evening meal as they are busy with the wedding food and want to make sure we get something! We went out for food! not a relaxing weekend at all, it's funny though the weddings on both days had a top notch service, leaving the rest of the guests lacking in service and comfort that you would expect when staying at this type of hotel, couldn't wait to get home, tired and hungry!!
My view on this is they should stick to weddings as the rest of the guests are not listened to and not catered for! So if you are reading this and not getting married, please think carefully and if I were you choose another hotel, wish I had read the reviews first!

Our daughter booked a room for us here on-line for our wedding anniversary, and after reading reviews on here, we were slightly worried as it's a real mixed bag, but it turned out our fears were unnecessary! The hotel is beautiful, coming up the driveway feels like your driving to a manor house! We were checked into a lovely room by a very friendly girl, who even congratulating us on our 25 years! The hotel was very busy with a wedding, but we were treated with as much importance as the wedding guests. We had a meal in the restaurant, which was a real treat, wonderful waiter, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast in the morning was very busy with wedding guests, but again our server was smiley and polite and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back for our 30 year anniversary!
