My wife and myself stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas, and could not have been more pleased! From the moment you walk through the grand front doors, everything is high standard. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist - I forget her name, red headed girl, and one not so friendly receptionist (blonde) who announced that she was "Going home because its been a long and boring day and i cant be bothered doing anymore check-ins, so you'll have to go to the other desk". Luckily we are not the kind of people to be bothered by it and we seen the funny side, however, its very unprofessional.

But the stay got better from there, as we walked to our room in the new part of the building we passed the grand staircase and had to stop to take pictures, it takes your breath away! It helps that at the bottom of the stairs there is a big roaring fire keeping you cosie and making you feel at home!

The room was not at all what we expected, it was very spacious and clean, and i cant really say one bad thing about it. We discovered that our kettle didn't work, and within 2 minutes the Duty Manager (girl from the restaurant) had run up with another one, and stayed to make sure this one was working! Fantastic!

We made our way downstairs around 7pm after trying not too fall asleep on the most comfortable bed we have ever come across. We sat in the Georgian Bar for about 30 seconds before the same girl (I think her name was Sheena) came through too us with menu's for the restaurant and took our drinks order. Drinks were fast, presented lovely but a bit to overpriced, but that doesn't matter. We placed our order and were taken through to the restaurant around 5 minutes later which was warm and had a great atmosphere. Our food was delicious, hats off to the chef! Sheena was great, she knew the food and wine menu like the back of her hand, and was able to advise us on the perfect wine for Christmas day. I was apprehensive at first, as the wine she recommended was rather expensive, but it was worth every penny. (She even let us have a sneaky little taste to make sure we would like it!! Worth it from her end, as we ended up buying 4 bottles!)

Christmas day was good, not great but good. The waitress in our dining room (the deeside suite?) was very stressed, and not very friendly, and rushed us a little bit, but we understood that it was a busy day. The food wasn't that great, a bit cold, and the roast potatoes were, well, lets just say they were not very nice!! But as it was Christmas, nobody cared, we were just glad to be in a nice place surrounded by our family!

I would most certainly recommend Norwood Hall to anybody, thanks guys for making our Christmas one to remember!! We will be back soon!

Had a lovely stay here with my husband just before Christmas. Hotel was beautiful, very oldy worldy. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We stayed in a junior suite in the old part of the hotel, which was lovely, although a little on the small side for a suite. Very comfy bed and lovely big bath. Even though there were Xmas parties going on in the hotel, we did not hear any noise. This was a last minute find and we were pleasantly surprised. Only £10 in a taxi into the city centre.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back.

We were planning a weekend break with my sister and husband during out visit from Australia. My sister found that there was a great deal going on laterooms.com - 99 pounds per couple for dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful and inside is lke stepping back in time - open fireplaces, sumptuous sofas, majestic staircase, carved wooden ceilings, tapestry covered walls....and the bedooms in the new wing are large and very nicely fitted out. The staff were delightful and the food - particularly the dinner was first class. This was our first visit but my sister and husband had been here last year and had an equally enjoyable experience.

my company use this hotel on a regular basis and I have to say I love it. Its a beautiful hotel, and when you walk inside it is even more so. dark panelling open fires sweeping staircase, it is like a country manor. the lounge is beautiful and overlooks the front grounds, the bar is quaint however is a little lacking in atmosphere. I think the rooms in the old building are a little to be desired however ive have not seen one so this is hearsay, the rooms in the newer building are nice, large and comfy. The bed you will not want to get out of the next morning ! There is a buffet breakfast for cold meats/cheeses/cereals etc and you order hot food and it comes served to you. The breakfast is very nice however is not the biggest you will have in a hotel so ensure you do have some from the cold buffet as well ! The hotel is about 15 minute drive from Aberdeen and there is a bus that leaves from outside the hotel grounds on a regular basis.

Room Tip: Hotel is a popular wedding venue so some rooms can be noisy if there is a function on.

Beautiful, traditional hotel. Lovely and cosy with very polite attentive staff. But...I treated a friend to an afternoon tea and quite frankly it was a bit of a disappointment. It cost £37.50 for two and for that I would have expected something special. Our tea was poured 10 mins before our sandwiches etc arrived. The presentation was nice - brown and white crustless sandwiches cut into fingers. The fillings were ham & mustard, coronation chicken and smoked salmon. Yum! The slight downside was that the bread was turning hard as though it had been sitting out uncovered for some time. The small cakes looked and tasted shop bought and the slices of fruit cake were miniscule. The scones were nice but again looked shop bought. It was meant as a treat but I wouldn't repeat it. Bit of a rip off.

We have just been to this hotel for weekend with friends, and it was just Fab! meal excellent and service great.

General manager upgraded us to a Junior suite as they had a function on and did not want our weekend spoilt by maybe being noisy at that end of the hotel.... would not get that from many hotels!!! it was just lovely.

Go on spoil yourself, its worth it!!!
