“Enjoyed the Burns night”
Reviewed 1 February 2013 via mobile

This is now the second time I have been here for a Burns night. On each occasion stayed over.
Great night although a wee bit delicate in the morning!!
Fine night, dance floor full pall night. Nice meal.
Only causality was the haggis as is tradition it was stabbed in glorious style.

Agree with TP_13_13 review reception staff require training in customer service. Maybe i was not the regular customer thats uses Norwood Hall. That was the impression i got, anyway arrived after 2200 hrs due to the snow. Asked if food was available told no the kitchen is closed, well and chance of a snack then due to the late hour? no kitchen closed.
Room was not ready? had to wait for a room to be found strange.
Reported in morning shower not working, hence the reply did you wait for the water?
Well not for half an hour and still cold, well i will have to arrange a repair then was the reply.
This was the first meeting/training held at Norwood by my company. Well my feedback hopefully will change their mind.
On a positive breakfast was excellent with professional staff, suggestion pass on your skills to reception.
Norwood is set in nice grounds and obviously specialises in weddings, which i am sure they are good at.

We decided to have a group evening out and the menu on offer at the Norwood Hall hotel for "Burns night" was lovely. Everything from the service of the waiting/bar staff, quality of the food and the fantastic Band made the evening a great night out for everyone that attended. One of our party have a wedding booked at the hotel this year, so we were lucky enough to get shown around the rooms and looking forward to staying there later this year.

The location of this hotel is great. The service however isn't.
The reception staff need some training in customer service. I was only there for one night and my impression of it is very poor.
The room I had (60) is very very poor and in need of a full overhaul. It was clean, but not worth the price paid. I think this hotel has a lot of work to do to bring it even close to a cheaper chain hotels standard.

Room Tip: Make sure you request a newly refurbished room. I was in room 60 which dated can only be the polite...

Thank you for your review. We are delighted to hear you found the hotel facilities to be of a high standard, we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel for a relaxing break rather than under the circumstances you previously experienced with the delayed flight.

I had a very nice last minute overnight stay in this Hotel.
The entrance section of the hotel is original grand and very pleasing to the eye.
Staff cry professional and attentive.
The food is very good and reasonably priced and the bar stocks s wide selection of drinks and especially fine malt whisky!
My room was modern clean with all you need for a comfortable stay. I really can't fault the place. Its a bit more than you would pay elsewhere but you really do get what you pay for on this one.

We stayed at the Norwood Hall Hotel as we were celebrating a friend's birthday. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. The hotel wasn't particularly busy so we felt like we were staying in someone's vey comfortable country mansion. The public rooms had roaring log fires, and coffee taken next to the fire, accompanied by the hotel's extremely delicious shortbread was a great start to our stay. The bedroom was large, with a very comfortable bed, and spacious bathroom which included an enormous shower cubicle and full sized bath. Two of the softest bathrobes I've ever had in a hotel bathroom were also provided. We had dinner in the restaurant, where the food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Having read previous posts on TA I booked a dinner bed and breakfast package through late rooms.com for £99 for two of us. I am still completely baffled as to how the hotel can possibly be making money on this deal, as we were able to choose our dinner from the full menu, which would have cost us about £50 each just for the food! We had a full cooked breakfast in the morning, with a buffet of cereals/fruit/pastries included if we'd wanted that. This is an extremely comfortable, warm, friendly hotel where the service is exemplary. We shall definitely return.

Room Tip: We had a room in the older part of the hotel - couldn't fault it.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the charms and tranquillity of our wonderful country house but still conveniently located only a couple of miles from Aberdeen City centre. Chef was delighted to receive your positive comments on your dining experiences; we hope we will have the pleasure of looking after you again in the future.
