Lovely clean beach with beautiful natural dunes. Miles of sand to build castles on or go for a paddle. One on the best beaches ever

“Nothing Special”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

Not exactly a beach which we usually think of. Approach to this beach is quite difficult. Can be avoided.

“Midnight visit to catch the Northern Lights”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

Face Book was highly active with the spectacular display of lights. So me and my family went on a midnight visit to catch the Northern Lights.
The car park was heaving at midnight and you could see the hundreds of people who had the same idea as us....get to Balmedie Beach to catch the light show.
Anyway, this is about the beach, which is our most popular along this coastline. So spacious and unspoilt.

“Must visit with or without the family”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

Sand dunes are amazing, kids will run up and down them all day.

Great place to take a BBQ, but please to take you trash home. Too many times I have seen little dumped all over the place buy dirty middens leaving all their rubbish behind.

Nice little park for the kids right at the main car park too

“Miles of golden sand”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

A lovely stretch of unspoilt golden sand. There are not many facilities at Balmedie beach other than a natural adventure playground. There are still relics of World War 2 to be seen along the length of the beach with plenty of picnic spots in the shelter of the sand dunes.
There is adequate parking with toilet facilities and the beach is never crowded.
Spend the day or just a few hours.
