Had lunch on a sunny day late April the first warmish sunny day this year! I was on a training course and stopped off here after buying a sandwich lunch. I'd not been in the gardens for years and was saddened to see it is a pale shadow of its former self. Sad and neglected.

It is in need of a serious revamp. Perhaps the recent plans weren't the best but is desperately needing something. It is shocking the council should turn its back on the upgrade people voted for.

Union terrace gradens are lovely. but could do with a bit of a sprouse up and they would look even better.

The gardens are tired. The opportunity is there to provide an absolute haven in the centre of Aberdeen but time and vandals are not helping. I certainly hope someone has the foresight to take the matter in hand sooner rather than later. I know there where plans for a complete regeneration but the gardens would have then been on a level with the streets around it and that would have been a total shame.

Always gomthere for a rest from shopping and have a picnic away from the hustle and bustle of Union St. So glad the move to destroy it was defeated

A nice place to sit and relax (weather permitting) I often like to sit in the summer with a coffee and read.
The green space adds to the city centre.
There can be a few degenerates hanging around as stated in other reviews but no more than Union Street in general.
Also if you're lucky you can sometimes get a (weak) wifi signal from Caledonian hotel if you sit on the bench closest to the east steps ;-)
