Description: We still get the odd customer who remembers being at school in this imposing granite building in one of the liveliest quarters of town - if only all educational establishments could be as a happy and welcoming as The Old Schoolhouse is today. Popular with a broad cross-section from mothers with children to students, football fans and people drawn to the wonderful beer garden at the front, it is a large bar full of intimate tables and lovely finished areas that are perfect for any party that you may be planning. We have six large screen HD televisions including two 84inch 4k HD tvs which makes us the perfect place for all live sporting events. Our food and bar menus cater for all tastes and interests. Drop in past any time you won't be disappointed.

“Good food”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Good pub food, l had a chicken and bacon salad and there was plenty of lovely fresh salad. Lots of tv screens for the sports watchers but we had a nice quiet corner where we could enjoy each others conversation. Nicely decorated but rather cool as the doors were held open to the entrance/beer garden. Staff were pleasant and helpfull. My only ctiticism would be that the toilets were not that clean.

“Should be better”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

A decent pub serving standard pub food, but it should have been so much better. Ordered two steak pie and chips and a pulled pork burrito and had to wait over 20 minutes for it to arrive. The surprising thing being that the top of the burrito and the puff pastry on the pie were burnt, the burrito to the extent that you couldn't eat that part of it. It appears as though it had been left for far too long under a heat lamp and can't understand why it wasn't served earlier which would have saved it being burnt! Strangely, the filling for the burrito could have been much warmer, it was only luke warm. Both steak pies had too much fat on the beef and the chips were far too hard. Price and service was very good but maybe just got the wrong day for the food!

“Great pub grub”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

Old School House is a great place for quality pub grub and a great pint. The service is very good especially the time from ordering food and it arriving.
There's always a good atmosphere and the food and drink are reasonably priced
