We make an annual trip back to Aberdeen when on leave and found Home from Home's Broomhill property when searching for serviced apartments.
Located between Holburn Street and Great Western Road Broomhill is less than 5 minutes walk from the city centre. The property is a granite tenement flat on the first floor and has been beautifully decorated and furnished. Compared to many of the rental properties in Aberdeen it is pleasing to see furnishings and decor that don't feel cheap.
We travelled with two kids, 8 and 10, and found the flat perfectly roomy for a family though the kitchen is galley style and not huge.
Included in the price was fast Wifi, Sky TV and a welcome package of tea, coffee and milk. In terms of the property our only request would have been a washer dryer as space for clothes hanging was limited with 4 in the house.
We were met at the property by Elaine, the owner, who took the time to explain the workings of the heating, washing machine etc and pointed out easier parking spaces nearby.
Due to the central location there is almost limitless choice nearby for eating out/delivery and entertainment. Broomhill road leads directly onto Anderson Drive, Aberdeen's main road north and south, so driving from the flat is simple. There is a bus stop literally outside of the property and the railway station is 15 minutes on foot.
5 minutes along Great Western Road the Ashvale fish and chip shop is a must for an easy meal or try No. 10 on Albyn Place for something more substantial.
The eternal measure of satisfaction, in my mind, is "Would you return?" We have already booked for June this year.
