No noise from planes disturbed me but note that taxi's collecting and dropping people outside the hotel is a problem for rooms on one side of the building. This went on quite late and started again at 6am. The grounds around the hotel seem a little tatty.

After reading the reviews on here i was a bit apprehensive to say the least but my company booked it and everywhere else was full so i had no choice, yes the car park could be in better condition but the staff were extremely pleasant but the the woman in the evening Louise was the most friendly and helpful, every night she would be welcoming and ask how i was?, she also told me somewhere new to eat every night as there is no restaurant at the hotel and was always chatty an asked if everything was ok when i went to the reception. The beds are comfortable and i had a good nights sleep the rooms are nice enough for what you pay and they were cleaned everyday for you going back at night.

After Arriving at a hotel that looked as if time had claimed it with a close down restaurant and a mould covered play area I knew that this would be a interesting night. The fences around the hotel are broken and the grass was above knee length.

After entering the hotel there was a pungent smell, I checked in and the staff were reasonability friendly although they seemed to want to rush along (I wondered if this was they fear people will leave) and get you to the room.

The room its self was very basic but bearing in mind they have no restaurant or bar its easy to start to notice the faults. There was no phone, no free Wi-Fi without registering an account, the beds were dirty and stained and this was followed by a shower that didn't look very clean.

Also the only heating in the room is a small electric heater in the corner. The window had a lock on it that prevented it being opened more then 3 inch's. This was also followed by being in a room that overlooked the front car park where everyone smokes. Breakfast is a small box of fruit bars that could be bought for less by walking about 1mile to the Tesco express.

This was added to the insult by charging £150 a night.

Overall the bed wasn't good pillows, needed to be replaced being floppy in the middle and the room was hot. I stayed one night and changed to the Marriott hotel by the airport

(This hotel is not within walking distance of the airport)

Room Tip: Don't pick a room that overlooks the front carpark where everyone smokes.

The area around the lodge is very overgron and the car park has large potholes. Also the fencing at the side of the car park was broken and overall this lodge is TIRED!!!

Pity because the room itself was fine and the bed extremely comfortable.

Just to update everyone, the 'travellers' have now left the neighbouring site. We had a very restful stay here, despite previous guests having issues with noise from the dogs, generators etc. We thought the hotel to offer exceptional value for money for a family room. We had a car so not having local bars, restaurants etc didn't really cause an issue; we were also aware that this would be the case prior to arrival as we had read the reviews. Hope somebody else benefits from the good value this hotel offers. The room was very clean and the staff were all very pleasant.

The car park of the derelict pub building adjacent to the hotel has been inhabited by travellers. Their generators run all night, their dogs bark constantly and there is rubbish everywhere. There are unsavoury, noisy characters wandering the grounds and car park and which made me worry for the safety of my vehicle. Ear plugs are needed if you want to sleep!!

Myself and my husband stayed here this weekend rooms are clean with good beds the hotel is well maintained with very friendly and helpful staff that were always happy to help.

On the sunday morning there was an argument between guests that got out of hand and caused some noise in the hotle but the girl on reception (Louise I think) handled the situation very professionally and quickly she is a credit to this hotel, as she looked quite young once everything had calmed down I went to make sure she was ok as I was worried but she was ok and still smiling I had a great talk with her and she assured me this kind of thing never normally happens here travelodge obviously give there staff excellent training for situations like this, well done to both partys for a great service I would definitely return and i would recommend this hotel aswell.
