Durind a visit last night one of our party was cut by broken glass that a waitress dropped. The manager viewed the injury and attended to it however there were no antiseptic wipes available and a plaster requested was taken away from the table before it could be used. At no time did the manager apologise for this incident nor did he offered any form of recompense at the end of the meal we suggested a gesture of good will but he was reluctant. Our colleague was still in some discomfort as we left but was hiding it well. We are in the business of training managers and customer service and what we experienced would not have made the grade.

Oddly enough I was waiting for this remarkably creative piece of writing from either you or another one of your ‘party’ You either have a twisted sense of reality or you’re simply full of it. But let me clarify the actual situation for the curious readers:
1: Your colleague’s leg suffered a ½ inch scratch from a broken glass that hit the floor. It’s not unusual for a member of the waiting to staff to drop something in the hospitality industry (Wait till they start wearing roller-skates!)
2: Your colleague was tended to immediately and a drum of antiseptic wipes (contents 200) were put on the table and several wipes (better safe than sorry!) were used to treat the wound. Thereafter a clean dry towel with crushed ice was put round the leg of the alleged victim (Just in case the leg swelled up to the size of Saturn, resulting in a lunar explosion)
3: The alleged victim was offered a choice of plasters, however we were out of ‘Does this plaster match my outfit’ variety, so it was either skin coloured plasters or those bright blue ones. The skin tone plasters seemed to do the job.
4: I, yes me made regular appearances at your table and made sure the leg wasn’t going to drop off and there wasn’t a sea of blood flooding down the middle of the restaurant and to check if you were enjoying your meal and given that your collective faces were smiling from ear to ear I took that as a yes.
5: All is well
6: I revisited your table about 15 minutes before you were going to leave and the vino had made it’s bed in your head. At which point you started feeling my back side.
And that is how it went.

Visited Cafe 52 with a group of work friends on a recommendation, and we were universally charmed by the place. The menu was promising and offered lots of options, making the choice difficult (particularly good menu for vegetarians - lots of interesting veggie options). My burger was one of the best I've had in this country (I really loved the wild garlic through it, which the menu had informed me was in season) and the sides - honeyed parsnips and rustic chips- were to die for. The main let down was dessert - tiramisu was disappointing in my opinion (I've had better), and a lovely baked cheesecake was spoiled slightly by the sticky but generally unappealing mulled fruit surrounding it. However I would still say this place was a highlight of the casual dining scene in Aberdeen. Great choices, an inviting atmosphere, and genuinely good food. I want to go back already.

We went here for the dinner and it was delicious. It is necessary to book a table because it is quiet small.

We've been to Cafe 52 a few times with friends for drinks, nibbles, and lunch. This was the first time we had dinner there, and it was perfect. The physical setting is just off Union Street, and they've really made an effort with the interior design. The unit is quite long and thin but they've made it work well. Service is well-balanced between informal and professional and the staff are all lovely. The food is no fuss, great flavours, presented well. Price point is spot on. Ideal for anything from couples to friends to business, for a couple of drinks and nibbles to a large meal or light lunch. Will be back many more times.

We stopped here for dinner as a bit of a last minute night out. I'd eaten lunch here a few times and enjoyed it, dinnertime was no different. We had great food from a menu with a reasonable choice on it.

The service was great and it has a really informal and relaxed atmosphere.

It was very reasonably priced.

Contributed to a great night out.
