Buttermere was by far the best holiday cottage we have stayed in, it had everything you could want comfortable, clean, homely, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. Rachel & Graham have created a wonderful holiday house they are extremely welcoming and helpful I will recommend all my friends to stay here and we will be back.
Had a wonderful week in Buttermere Cottage with my wife and toddler. The owners welcomed us and showed us the cottage. Milk and cupcakes in the fridge was a nice suprise.
The cottage is very well equiped. Every thing we needed was in the kitchen. High chair and travel cot were available for our daughter.
The location is great, a few minutes drive from the sea. We were lucky enough to see dolphins.
We really enjoyed our week at Buttermere Cottage. Hope to return one day and would highly recomend it.
Delightful 2 bed cottage with great facilities and a warm welcome from the friendly owners. Buttermere cottage has undergone significant upgrade. The refurbishment has protected the ethos of the original cottage with use of sympathetic colours, materials and furnishings.
This is a lovely holiday cottage and great place to relax and unwind. It starts with the welcome; milk in the fridge, teabags, homemade cakes in the fridge and biscuits on the table. Pristine and interesting mugs, teapot and cafetiere. A well equipped kitchen has every required utensil and quality stoneware crockery that will make a week of self catering a stress less experience.
Technology is quietly unobtrusive but the digital TV stations are a welcome addition to the DVD player and the playstation. The USB sockets in the kitchen are useful addition and the effective wifi is one of life’s essentials!
Home comforts extend to board games, DVDs and books available too. High quality towels, bedding and soft luxurious mattresses make for a relaxing bedtime experience to soothe away the exertions of the day.
First time visitors to Aberdeenshire will be amazed at the variety of things to do in the rolling and coastal landscape. A wee gem of a place, highly recommended.
What a find this cottage was. We traveled the uk for over 5 months and stayed in various cottages most were lovely but this one outshone the others. The quality of everything in the cottage from furniture to kitchen utensils was first class, finishing touches are very tasteful. Beds and bedding are very comfortable and again best quality.
We were given a lovely warm welcome by owners, a welcome pack and cupcakes to die for, were very appreciated.
Very central location for touring, an abundance of beautiful coves, beaches and countryside to visit, also castles, Baxters of soup fame, Crawfords Shortbread and of course The Whisky Trail.
We traveled with a disabled person so they had the bedroom/ensuit on the entry level where the lounge and kitchen is and my husband and I had the down stairs bedroom and bathroom, allowing both couples plenty of space.
I definitely would book this cottage again.
