“Staying in a lighthouse”

If you are looking for a quiet get away, then this place is it. Its a lovely spot along side a quiet village with lovely views. The cottage has all you need for self catering including a solid fuel fire for cosy moments. There are pathways for walking nearby but we didn't get that far. If you are looking for places to go nearby there isn't much to visit without travelling some miles.

“Buchan Ness Lighthouse cottage stay”

We stayed in Skerry Cottage for 2 nights on the 25th October, what a gem we found! The cottage itself is beautiful and had the most outstanding views (especially the view from the kitchen). We were greeted with a warm welcome from the owners upon arrival who showed us around the cottage and gave us some tips for things to do nearby. There’s some great walks nearby including Slains Castle and Bullard’s of Buchan. It is also lovely to see the lighthouse from afar (you get a good view from the bridge you cross before the lighthouse). So glad to have found Skerry Cottage – we hope to return sometime in the future and will be recommending to friends and family.

This was our second visit to Skerry cottage. The view from the decking is absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the experience of staying in the lighthouse keepers cottage. Sheila (the owner) is very welcoming and helpful. We will return to Skerry cottage soon.

“Wonderful place , fabulous views, great hosts”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This is a wonderful place , quiet with some really good touches. eg supplied were binnoculars, picnic basket , small amounts of tea & coffee , large array of books , board games and DVD's for the day where you stay in. Sheila and Mel are just wonderful hosts nothing was too much trouble. Its quite a large bungalow so therre is plenty of space.

“Amazing cottage with fantastic views”
Reviewed 24 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Just spent a weekend here. Cottage is very nicely decorated, cosy and comfy. The selling point is the view though, you could look out at that sea all day, very busy with boats and you can see ovet to Peterhead harbour. There is lots to do in the area: we walked to a beach just short of Peterhead, went to Cruden bay and Slaines castle. There is still plenty more to do in the area so we hope to return soon.
