“We will be back”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

We had a really enjoyable two nights stay in July 2012. The posted reviews I read before we went are not exagerrated. The accommodation is superb, furnishings fabulous and everything is done to a very high standard. Excellent choices for breakfast which was good quality and well presented. Esther and Raymond are excellent hosts, nothing was a trouble. They recommended and booked two beautiful local restaurants for our evening meals and despite them being busy we got the best tables. To cap it off the weather was also superb and we were able to make use of their outdoor facilities.

Esther and Raymond are excellent hosts and have the best bed and breakfast we have ever visited. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay in the Arbroath area. Raymond can guide you on the history of the area and sights to see. Breakfasts were divine - try the Arbroath smokies - they are great! We tried them at another hotel - just not the same. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. If you are ever in the Arbroath area - look no further for a wonderful and relaxing place to stay during your visit to Scotland. It will certainly be on our list for our return trip.

All the reviews are correct. We stayed for just one night (10th July) but will definitely go back. Esther and Raymond are very caring and, with the help of their family, they have created a wonderful house which they clearly love to share with their guests. They asked whether there was any improvement we would like to suggest and we couldn't think of anything. The area has obviously changed since the house was built but the garden and grounds of the house are an oasis among recent housing developments which do not detract from the Brucefield experience.

Well, what can I say that all other guests haven't said. Totally agree with everyone else. We have stayed in many b & b/guest houses/hotels over the years and I have to say this is one of the best I have stayed in. Very tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. A lot of small touches that I have never had before which says everything really. Esther and Raymond really care about their guests needs and make you very welcome. We were out for a meal with friends who live in Arbroath and it was not a problem to bring them back to Brucefields for a coffee. Although we never used the complimentary drinks that were available has anyone ever had that before. Usually the complete opposite and rip you off with bar prices! Breakfast was brilliant, cooked to order instead of the usual buffet that is usually cold and all dried up. Everything in the guest house is of the best quality, from the breakfast to the furnishings. Will definitely be back at some point.

We stayed three days and everything was what we had hoped for and more. Our hosts Esther and Raymond were attentive to our every need and organised restaurant reservations on our behalf. They offered to make other reservations for us: golf etc. but we had our own agenda.
We left a pair of earrings by the side of the bed when we left. Esther called us on our way to the airport. As we could not return, she ensured they were mailed to an address of our choosing.
We will return the next time we visit Arbroath.
Everything you could think of was available for our convenience

My husband and I decided to stay at Brucefield while we were back in Scotland visiting family, and can give nothing but the highest praise for the most fantastic B&B we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Esther, we were made to feel very welcome and at home. Our suite was superb - beautifully decorated and furnished to a very high standard, very clean, fab bathroom and with the most comfortable bed!! The breakfasts were delicious and the guest lounge very inviting!!! Oh - and not forgetting the lovely extra touches of sweeties around the house, especially my husbands favourite Raspberry Ruffles!!! All so much so, that we extended our stay by a further night. We will definately be back and will be telling all our friends about the fabulous stay that we had here. Thank you so much Esther and Raymond. Xx
