“Best of the Best at Brucefield Boutique B & B”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

When I will go to Scotland the next time there will be no discussion that I will book Brucefield Boutique B & B again. I have experienced several british hotels but Brucefield Boutique is just wonderful in every aspect.

We were met outside as soon as we arrived by Raymond who introduced himself and promptly explained where important stuff like the complimentary bar was situated!

The house and the rooms are nice. Breakfast superb. Service perfect. Small trays of toffee everywhere in the house, not good for sugar addicts though!

In addition; Have anyone EVER heard of the hotel manager walking out every morning and washing all the cars of the guests? Just amazing and without ANY comparison.

I have been to several hotels in Europe and America including Mexico. I have never felt as welcome, been as good treated and left with a smile as leaving Raymond, Esther and their staff.

This is the place to stay when visiting Scotland. I would easily plan a trip to Scotland and try to keep this B&B as my central point for the visit.

Room Tip: I would presume that choice of room is irrelevant really. No traffic outside in any case. Room 1 is...

If you are looking for a wonderful night's sleep, beautiful modern bathroom, the most fantastic selection for breakfast and delightful surroundings, then this is where you should be. Factor in warm, welcoming hosts, Esther and Raymond, and it doesn't get any better.
And to top it off, Raymond gave our car a quick rinse while we ate breakfast!
They provided all sorts of local information, including a great place for dinner - The Old Boatyard - and made us wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet with good wifi access. Decor and fittings are similar in all rooms.

I had planned to come to Arbroath to trace down my Scottish roots and picked this place based on the Trip Advisor reviews. We were only disappointed by the fact that we were only staying one night. It was the best place to stay - hosts were amazing, breakfast was delicious, well priced, spotlessly clean and well located. We could walk to town for dinner and enjoy a walk along the coast on our way back to the B&B. Although, we came back from our trip nearly a month ago - this place was certainly a highlight of a place to stay in Scotland. We stayed even at a castle and this place was better than staying there. You can't go wrong staying here. We highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Eilean Donan room on the first floor was great for those traveling with luggage.

Lovely hosts, superb room, fantastic breakfast. Would recommend completely. The owners and staff really care in every detail. I stayed in room 5 which was huge with an equally big bathroom. Room was spotless. Superb breakfast served with a nothing is too much trouble attitude. Will definitely go back.

We stayed at Brucefield only for one night, regrettably! We stayed in the Eilean Donan room on the first floor. Fantastic room, spacious, with a large bathroom including a large freestanding tub. Huge bed, everything was spotlessly clean and very elegantly decorated.
Esther and Raymond were very nice hosts, providing us with tons of information about Arbroath and the surroundings.
On the ground floor there is a minibar for the guests free to use, with soft drinks, wines, beers, various spirits. Candy has been distributed all over the house. The breakfast was really good, the menu is extensive and everything is freshly prepared. Tip: the Arbroath smokie for breakfast.
A beautiful walk along the ridge above the sea provieds you with a great view and brings you in 15 minutes to the harbour.
Arbroath is definitely worth a visit, and we really regret that we stayed only one night. Next time we stay longer.
When we left, Raymond had cleaned our car with the garden hose! Amazing!
Thanks for a really great stay!

Just returned from another glorious stay at Brucefield Boutique B&B. Every time we return here we leave wishing we could stay longer. Fantastic hosts backed up by a superb team. Luxury accommodation at it's best, an oasis in Arbroath. We'll be back again soon!!

Return visit to Esther & Raymond at Brucefield - this time we took 3 friends with us - they had listened to us enthusing about our last visit and wanted to go with us. They will now be taking all their parents there for a holiday break.

Start to finish, we could not have been better looked after. We brought a bottle of champagne with us to celebrate our friends' wedding anniversary ... Esther put it in an ice bucket and served strawberries with it. Raymond hoses down the cars on the day of departure. Esther also sorted us out with taxi bookings for our 2 evening meals. It's all these special touches that are so appreciated.

All the superlatives you read from other reviewers are true - the beautiful house and grounds, plush bedrooms, ultra high standard of cleanliness (like no-one has ever used the place before you), great cooking and complimentary bar!

What can I say - travel to Arbroath just to experience Brucefield - your expectations are bound to be exceeded!

Thank you Esther & Raymond for opening up your home and letting us get a taste of fine living!
