Boring as it may be I have absolutely no choice but to agree wholeheartedly with all the previous reviews! A fantastic B&B in an unlikely location. Clearly this is a labour of love for the hosts for whom nothing is too much effort from the moment they greet you by name to ensuring you have all you need for your journey on departure. Immense thought and care has gone into renovating this building with luxury taking precendence over maximising the number of guest rooms. Our bathroom alone was larger than many hotel bedrooms with large shower and huge free-standing bath. Bedroom extremely well equipped with luxourious soft furnishings and little touches like an i-pod docking station and fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was excellent --try the Arbroath smokies! --and irresistibly plentiful. Needless to say everything was spotlessly clean and fresh. We visited at Hogmanay so couldn't utilize the outdoor facilities and will have to visit again in summer! If you need to stay anywhere remotely in the Arbroath area stay here even if it means a detour. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed at Brucefield for nearly a week and we loved it. Lovely house, great rooms with all the amenities of a top hotel but with friendly owners Ray and Ester catering to your every need. The breakfast is top class and they have choice and time flexibility to boot. The accommodation is well situated for the coast of Arbroath, walking distance from both Victoria Park and town. Easy access to the glens, Arbroath cliffs and all the main routes around Arbroath. We will certainly stay again on subsequent visits to the area and have no qualms in recommending this lovely place for either a short or extended stay for both leisure or business.

Having stayed at the Brucefield Boutique B&B on many occasions, I am never disappointed.
Raymond and Ester could not be more welcoming, from the moment you arrive nothing is too much trouble for them, having traveled and stayed in many top hotels, Brucefield is up there with the very best, as well as being more fabulous than most.
The decor is perfect, my every need was catered for, perfect bedrooms, lovely cosy beds, comfortable and classy.
The breakfast is always a treat and jane does a fantastic job in preparing it, a wonderful breakfast, made with top quality ingredience.
As I left this morning I booked again for my next trip to Arbroath in February, I would be so disappointed if I made contact later and realised they were full, for me there is no other place I would stay in Arbroath, can't wait to return in February.
Ooooops sorry Ester for eating all the sweeties you kindly placed in the room, once again nice touch!

My brother and I lived in Arbroath more than 30 years ago. We returned for my mom's 80th birthday and were DELIGHTED that she booked us into the 5-star Brucefield, conveniently located a brief walk from her tiny home overlooking the North Sea. Arbroath has long-needed a top quality b&b. The Brucefield and it's warm and gracious hosts, Raymond and Esther, are a wonderful enticement to come back more often! They have done an incredible job of renovating a beautiful old country house. My room ("Castle Stalker" facing the garden) was spacious and well-appointed, the furnishings simple yet utterly sumptuous, the bathroom was modern and spotless. Jane prepared our breakfast to order each morning and we never tired of her special scrambled eggs served with salmon pate and oatcakes, or the Arbroath smokies grilled to perfection!! Despite the snowiest and coldest weather in Scotland in over 20 years, the house was nice and toasty inside. The quiet stillness upon waking in the morning was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of constant traffic in California and it was beautiful to look out on the "winter wonderland". Unfortunately the weather wasn't conducive to our enjoying a glass of wine (complimentary) on the patio! Can't wait to return.

Friendly welcome and very well hosted by Jane whilst the owners are away. The rooms are excellent, beautifully fitted out and have everything you need including digital TV, DVD, WIFI and Ipod dock as well as fresh 'real' coffee. En-suite facilities are outstanding and the whole setup is very spacious. The shared lounge has a good selection of drinks, magazines and newspapers. Jane also cooked the breakfast which was fantastic.

It is quite pricey for a B&B but lives up to the 5 star standard that it carries and would definitely recommend it

We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring the arbroath area and the hosts have clearly worked hard to make their b&b a 'special place'. It's very comfortable and feels like it's come straight out of the pages of Elle Decoration - modern furniture, plush beds and cushions, funky bathroom, etc. Spotlessly clean, within walking distance of the town - perhaps a little on the pricey side for a 'local' b&b at £90 per night, but perhaps they're aiming for a certain type of guest only? Good ingredients, well cooked provided us with great breakfasts. The owners are clearly keen to make you feel welcome, providing you with local information and advice with much gusto. Overall it looks like the best in town - but for the price they'll have to keep up their very high standards for the long term.
