“Comfortable stay”
Reviewed 16 October 2012

We were welcomed to Blairdene at very short notice and offered a choice of two rooms. We took the larger room with en suite for £80, and it was comfortable, clean and well equipped with a generously sized bathroom, although it lacked those extra touches that I would expect from a room of this price, the little inessentials that make you feel that they've gone the extra mile. Nonetheless, the hostess was more than friendly and helpful and made sure we had all we needed. Bathroom floor was treacherously slippery after we'd taken our showers. Breakfast, served downstairs in the cafe, was delicious. There is no parking directly by the guesthouse as it is right on the pedestrianised high street (great central location). However, you can drive up to the front door for unloading (not sure if time-limits apply) and we were advised to park in a public car park 2 minutes' walk away. This car park is free overnight, but during the day I think again time restrictions may apply.

Just returned from a one night visit at this 3 star guest house and have to say what a lovely time we had, and also well located in the town centre. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, our night included breakfast and what a fab breakfast it was, continental, with all the usual croissants, jams yogurts etc, choice of cereals, orange juice, toast and tea and coffee, not to foreget a full Scottish breakfast included. They also have a cafe that do meals during the day, however we never tried the cafe as we had already eaten, but the prices looked in comparison to practially anywhere else in the town. We payed only £70 for a double room with en-suite for the 2 of us, on Saturday the 29th September it was well worth it. The staff were very welcoming. helpful and friendly. Would definatelly go back there again.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor, which suited us, as not too many stairs to get up.

I stayed two nights at Blairdene. My room was spacious with comfortable and tasteful decor. En suite shower was great. Ideal central location close to local amenities. The owners and staff couldn't be more helpful. Two bright dining rooms inside the building and a delightful courtyard at the back. Great food and hospitality. Felt very welcome and relaxed there. Would definately recommend it.

A very pleasant surprise, nice rooms and comfortable bed. Right in the centre of Arbrouth, small walk to the harbour. Breakfast was fantastic and the landlady was very helpful. It's not a boutique B&B but it is good value for money. Hardest thing was finding the front door!
