“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

A very nice little museum which tells the story of the Bell Rock lighthouse (and also gives a potted history of Arbroath) by means of wall boards and interesting displays. Very well laid out museum with very helpful and interested staff. Free admission and free parking - why wouldn't you want to visit?

“Lovely wee museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

This was a great surprise - we mainly came here for somewhere to shelter on a rather rainy Saturday afternoon but we ended up staying for over an hour. The girl at the desk was very helpful - gave us a gallery activity leaflet for each of the boys (aged 8 and 10) that kept them interested in the visit and they got the opportunity to colour a hanging fish which the younger one enjoyed. The museum tells the story of the Bell Rock Lighthouse and does it well although it would perhaps have been interesting to see some other aspects of Arbroath's history.

“Informative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

This is a small but very well laid out museum offering the history of the lighthouse development and Arbroath. The story boards help you understand the huge importance of the fishing industry to Arbroath and also the effects of steam ship development to the community and surrounding area. Whilst we did not complete the BBC film as it is 45mins long we left after over an hour feeling we had gained loads of information of how people lived and the importance of the building of the Bell Lighthouse in saving lives.

One of Scotland's little gems and free!

“Very Informative Visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

Visited the Signal Tower Museum this afternoon (Saturday 14th June). Was pleasantly surprised to find it was Free Admittance. Very unusual for these sort of places. Being a newcomer to the area, it was good to learn more about the history of the Bell Rock and the Arbroath Harbour area. Certainly worth a visit.
