Great host in Helen who runs a spotless establishment. The food is superb & the location excellent as their are stores & drive throughs close by . A short walk over the bridge & their are various walks left & right with the town being only 20mins away . Perfect.

My wife and I visited Arbroath over the weekend 30 May to 1 June and stayed at the Inishowen B&B located on the Dundee Road. This Guest House boasts a Scottish Tourist Board 4 Stars and thoroughly deserves this classification. We have stayed in numerous 5 Star establishments that are not a patch on the comfort, cleanliness, service and high standards offered at the Inishowen. Helen who owns and runs the Guesthouse was on hand to welcome us warmly on arrival and to show us to our room, explaining house arrangements, security and meal timings etc. It was immediately obvious that Helen has been meticulous in providing her guests with well designed and tastefully decorated, very well furnished bedrooms. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen matched the modern room decor. The room provided WiFi access and flat screen TV, and supplied the usual tea and coffee making facilities, but also included hot chocolate and tasty biscuits besides. Additional bedding/linen was available if required as well as a hair dryer to each room. The ensuite bathroom had been recently refurbished and was immaculate, providing a shower cubicle and separate full length bath, fresh soft towels/face clothes, and modern soap dispensers.
The good sized breakfast room combining the guests lounge was comfortable, well decorated, with plenty of natural light from the large window. The breakfast tables were well laid up with again tastfully chosen Denby crockery. Helen provides everything you would expect for the breakfast meal; there are cereal choices, mixed fruits in individual containers, yoghurts, cereal bars and juices etc. She offers a well cooked full Scottish breakfast as well as omelettes and porridge on request, along with fresh toast, fresh coffee and a selection of teas.
The frontage of the property was uncluttered with attractive flowers planted in large pots, and provides adequate off road private parking for guests cars.
This is an outstanding B&B Guesthouse that we would recommend to anyone. Thank you Helen and we will certainly stay with you again when we are next in Arbroath.

Room Tip: Our room fronted on to the Dundee Road looking out to the sea. Although you can hear the traffic du...

Thankyou so much for your review. You commented on all aspects that guests experience at my establishment and your descriptions were exactly what we try to achieve. I do hope future guests read your review and take on board what they read is what they will get at the Inishowen

We stayed three nights at the Inishowen. The B&B is spotless and bedrooms have been decorated and furnished to high quality. We were warmly welcomed by Helen and enjoyed a well cooked breakfast. Although situated on the main road into Arbroath, which is busy during the day, there is no problem from noise at night. Thank you Helen for a lovely stay.

First stay at the Inishowen, but will certainly not be our last. Found all to be perfect, from the warm welcome, comfortable room with lovely large en suite, perfectly cooked breakfast, to the cheery goodbye.

Room Tip: Only stayed in the one at the front and it was perfect

We stayed 3 nights at The Inishowen in a very nice, clean, well equipped room with comfortable beds. For motorists a 1.Class address. The rear rooms are really calm. The full Scottish breakfast was fantastic. Our next stay in Arbroath will be again in The Inishowen.

Room Tip: Rear rooms are quiet, front rooms have a good look over the sea.

First off ... Fantastic full Sottish breakfast! The property is very well situated as you enter Arbroath from the south. Good parking - very clean - reasonably appointed. Front bedroom overlooks the sea but is also adjacent to the main road and suffers a little from traffic noise. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully bright and clean. The wood laminate floors throughout are spotless and I'm sure, very convenient for keeping clean, however, because even soft footsteps are noisy, it makes one feel uncomfortable walking around in shoes. (I know, Helen - as you mentioned to another reviewer - "slippers" - but I don't normally pack slippers when I'm traveling).

Thankyou for your review and comments. Im sorry you felt "uncomfortable " with the wood floors. This is obviously a personal opinion and yes you are correct in saying "ease of cleaning" but I would say that not only for the astheic effect , if you don't "pack slippers" then you would be "comfortable" knowing exactly what is underfoot. We cater for a variety of guests ie fisherman , builders, beach walkers and all their trademarks are left on the only carpet in the house which is the stairs leading to the bedroom so the floor type was chosen specifically to eliminate these trademarks for new guests arriving. Your comment was valued but it is in the minority so hopefully you can appreciate the reason behind the chosen flooring.
