This is a really well situated hotel/bar/restaurant on the corner of the main street in Carnoustie.
I stayed for 2 nights with 4 friends here at the beginning of May and was very impressed. The family rooms are huge with 3 single beds in each room and all en-suite.
We ate in the restaurant on the first night and was very impressed both by the quality and size of the meals- it's typical pub fare and very reasonably priced.
One of our group is vegetarian and his breakfast requirements were well catered for,
The bar is light and airy with a good selection of ales and beers and has Sky Sports-overall highly recommended

Room Tip: Try to book the family rooms on the top floor- they are huge although probably not suited for people who have difficulty climbing stairs.

Was here on a Friday night, the pub was really busy, but not full. The bar staff and customers were very friendly. A lot of regular customers but made us feel very welcome. The measures in the pub were very generous and very tasty. Would go back again and again.

Just back from the Aboukir having had a meal at the gable restaurant. We had booked a late meal time but this was no problem to the staff - they were excellent. The food was brilliant so full marks to the chef. The roast pheasant was done to a T and I'm now a convert. Atmosphere was excellent and nothing seemed to be to much trouble. Will definitely be back.

We always stay here when working close by. The place has very friendly staff and will do there upmost to make your stay a pleasant one. The food is well cooked and a good variety just what you need after a hard days work. The rooms are all large very clean with good big showers. 10 out of 10 for us another good resting place when up in Scotland.
