The meal at The Ardentinny was the highlight of a lovely week away in the area. Our only disappointment was we did not find this place earlier on. Its a modern bistro style restaurant with drinking bar area at the front and lovely decking over looking the loch at the rear. A great range of food on the menu and special boards - from Tapas to pub favorites Pie & Steaks etc plus an exciting Italian section. The food was as the lovely as the view over the Loch with porpoises rolling out of the water which just capped off a wonderful evening.

this place is just amazing food is amazing and the view over the loch, we were in dunoon for a week and we went there twice and the people giving them bad remarks are the people who have the the same business as them, so don't take any notice off these bad reviews these people are sad every one we spoke too said the same this is the best place for food and the views and most off all the staff

We had called at a rather scruffy looking hotel near where we were staying and told they had no food for Sunday lunches left . We carried on to Ardentinny and what a difference in the quality of the premises.
Best Sunday lunch ever. Worth every penny of £13.95. Loads of tender beef and all the trimmings. Lovely veg well cooked and attentive service. Amazing views of the loch and bright modern decor and art work. Hope to eat again before the end of our holiday.
Hoping for sunshine so we can enjoy the terrace.

Good location and recently refurbished, so expecting good food. However, we were very disappointed. We had considered the Sunday roast beef, but after glancing at other diners’ plates, decided the vegetables looked over done and therefore opted for Italian style food, presumably cooked by the ‘Italian’ chef advertised on their website. The mains were chosen from the specials board, hake with Italian style sauce and clams with pasta. We were told the hake came with vegetables, but they were not in any way in keeping with the rest of the dish...swede, soggy cabbage, over cooked roast potatoes and beans. The same vegetables that were served with the roast! The clam dish lacked a source, was oily and had far too much garlic which obliterated the flavour of the clams. We had thought we might have a sweet, but decided to leave.

We had heard of this new restaurant in Ardentinny, so we normally take our wee dog down there for a swim in the sea we decided to go in as we have heard some of our clients speak of it being nice for seafood, you can take your well behaved dog in .

So we walked in and the person behind the bar said hello the other person just looked and smiled ,there were a few people in and a nice balcony and with glass front to give a great view over the water we thought this is nice the decor is modern and bright ,clean as a whistle , so we sat down no one asked if we wanted a menu we looked at the specials board on the wall but most of the seafood was not available we then asked for the menu and the person said that's them in that box on the bar, then gave it to us meanwhile a worker walks in and gets 2 cokes from over the bar and we sort of felt shouldn't they be asking us if we would like a drink or some sort of welcome communication to recognise we were customers looking for lunch . But alas they were to busy doing nothing not even to look you in the eye so sadly we got up and left , and never shall we return and we run 2 Holiday Parks down the road and the owners are always asking us to recommend any new eateries . But The Ardentinny wont be on that list .

So very sorry you did not enjoy your visit to the Ardentinny on Sunday, sorry the staff did not look after you , they must have thought you were just in for a drink when you went outside and sat looking out to the sea with your dog , so sorry my staff did not take good care of you and with it being Sunday i was surprised about the workmen , I have had a word with my staff and would like to invite you back and i will take personal care of you my self . Hope you do try us again. The Manager .
