John Docherty from the Anderson party 8th & 9th of June 2014. Absolutely fantastic place cannot fault room or breakfast. The rooms are fitted out to a high specification, pillows and beds are very comfortable.

Our normal B&B in the area was fully booked, so Grammar Lodge was recommended to us--boy, are we glad. Grammar Lodge, a repurposed, modernized elementary school building, is only a short walk from the harbor and from the main shopping area of Campbeltown. The rooms are beautifully appointed and huge. The shower in our bathroom was one of the best we've ever had in a B&B. Breakfast was tasty and kept us going all day on the golf course. The owners, Willy and Kirsteen, are great, friendly, and helpful hosts. Be sure to ask directions to the small Linda McCartney Memorial Park. This was a great find for us.
Grammar Lodge definitely lives up the excellent ratings that it gets from travellers.
The building is very well kept with tons of parking. Just a couple of blocks in from the main street and the ferry terminal, it was easy to find and close to everything we needed. Our room was a good size and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and our shower was really good, too. The dining room is beautiful and our breakfast was very tasty.
Kirsteen is a great hostess and we were very happy and satisfied with our stay at Grammar Lodge. Definitely the place to stay in Campbeltown!
Hard to add much to the other favourable reviews. We were very impressed by the Grammar Lodge and spent two nights here in a very comfortable, airy and spacious room. The location is in a very pleasant and quiet corner of Campbeltown, within easy walking distance of all the facilities and shops. Plenty of free off-road parking in what would presumably have been the school playground.
Owners were friendly and professional and have clearly invested a great deal of hard work and money in transforming this once dilapidated old school building into a modern, first class guest house.
The only minor point if I had one was that the sausages at breakfast were not particularly good quality, and looked and tasted like supermarket "value" product - isn't there a local butcher who could supply something better?
Thank you Gordon for your kind comments regarding our Guest House. We are sorry that you were disappointed in the quality of our sausages but can assure you that we buy all our sausages from our local butcher and also use local free range eggs. I hope this did not distract from your stay and hope to see you back again in the future.
From the telephone call to make the booking to the farewell at departure was FIRST CLASS.
The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean and modern with Full sky TV package, tea & coffee making facilities, free wifi and delicious home make cakes daily.
Breakfast was outstanding! Especially the added haggis!
The proprietors are both very friendly and nothing too much trouble!
Will stay here again and again year after year (I'm really fussy about where I stay) but this place is what Campbeltown needed.
Me and two others stayed in Campbeltown for the Kintyre Way Ultra Race. What an amazing place, the owners were so welcoming and everything about the Grammar Lodge was beautiful! The rooms were brilliant with the best bathrooms I've ever experienced. Each morning they accommodated our awkward breakfast times and made us all feel so welcome. I couldn't sing the praises of the lodge any higher! Purely stunning place to stay!
