We got a deal off Groupon and I have always wanted to explore a bit of the Argyle and Bute as it is criminal ignored by a lot of people. The Argyle is an excellent place to base your self for couple of days. I found the staff helpful, approachable and good sense of humour. The food was really good and value for money! Try the Muscles-yum.

Yes the room was a wee bit frayed round the edges, but you are only sleeping there! The bed was comfy, and the shower was hot. That what's matters. The bar is great place to relax after travelling about lochs, glens and standing stones of Argyle. Great Jukebox as well!

My advice is go up to the Argyle and Bute as most people seem to pass through rather visit, you will not be disappointed and wowed by the scenery

Nice enough staff, but this Hotel needs help. Not sure why they call themselves 'Bespoke'? I thought it meant 'luxury' in Hotelspeak. This hotel is far from luxury! It has all the trappings of minimum investment and concern for the experience of its customers. You just feel bad for all those overseas visitors that I'm sure expected much better. We certainly did!

Room Tip: Check your room before agreeing to take it. Our was the size of a broom cupboard!

We went as a group of 6 adults on a 2 night groupon deal and value for money it definitely was. The Argyll is over 300 yrs old so its hardly surprising it has wonky doors and slanted floors,,its all part of the character. The views were stunning over the loch, the food was excellent and the service was great. We had 3 different rooms between us, all had their quirky bits but if you look beyond that you will have a lovely stay at the Argyll, I will definitely be going back.

Positives - pleasant staff, downstairs areas welcoming and breakfast was lovely.
Negatives - this hotel despertely needs some TLC for it's rooms or it will get to the point that people will not stay, which is a shame. Please fix peeling wallpaper and apply a fresh lick of paint.

We stayed at the Argyll hotel in February as part of an ITISON deal. This was great value for money. The hotel needs a bit of a paint and the decor needs re vamped but the good was out of this world. The mussels were delicious. The waiting staff were so friendly. The bar staff were laid back. The too me as spacious but the TV was a bit ancient and temperamental. The bed good god was like concrete but bedding and towels very clean. We had a late lunch in anther hotel as the argyll stops lunches at 3 ?? It was a lovely calm and slow weekend and we felt refreshed after it. The deal was so good we would return and venture a bit further than the town itself.

This Hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking Loch Fyne in one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland. The staff are fantastic, not only in their service they provide you, nothing is too much trouble and they are all extremely pleasant and work very hard. The food is outstanding!! They provided us with an array of meals that outdone the more acclaimed George Hotel around the corner, Thankyou to the chefs for their culinary expertise. This hotel is owned by Bespoke Hotels who are running the Argyll to service their other acquisitions in the bigger cities... Shame on you.. You are badly letting down your staff who maintain a high level of work & commitment to your guests.. So throw some money at the Argyll and give it the makeover the location deserves. Be a company which is worthy of your guests and stop letting down your guests & more importantly your'e taken for granted staff.

Inveraray is a lovely loch side town, buzzing on Easter Sunday with day trippers and bikers.
We had a lovely welcome and were placed in a corner room overlooking the loch, as booked.
The hotel dates from the 1700s so nothing is straight, including the floors which is a little disconcerting. Our room was large and had plenty of storage and a full bathroom with shower. However although clean it is desperate need of redecoration with paper peeling off the walls, a very small old CRT TV and old fashioned furniture.
We didn't fancy the food menu and had a pizza craving, so ate round the corner. The road noise was a little annoying in the day but it quietened down and we slept well. The breakfast buffet was ok but coffee rather tasteless.
We paid £70 for the night which was reasonable but I would have been disappointed if we'd paid more.
