Description: The first thing that you'll notice when you walk in will be the homely and inviting atmosphere, the second will be the very subtle aroma of beautiful local produce. Modern and traditional cuisine made using the best of local produce, served in a charming Scottish restaurant with a warming atmosphere. Informality is the order of the day at Brambles - we create a relaxed dining atmosphere to make all our patrons feel comfortable and at ease - combined with our friendly and efficient serving staff we know you will enjoy the dining experience as much as you will the food.

“Excellent friendly service and wonderful food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2011

We booked Brambles for a fish tea for a coach load of 50 people. Our booking was received by a very courteous member of staff and all communication was dealt with in a very friendly manner. Our needs were accommodated, the food was excellent and served quickly by extremely friendly staff. All the people on the coach praised the food and service and we are extremely grateful for making our day out very enjoyable.

“Satisfied our hunger, but disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2011

We ate in here after seeing a queue out of the door a few days before when we passed through. So we entered, asked for a table for two, were directed to a table, and left for over 5 minutes until we were eventually given a menu. By which time we were comtemplating going to the chip shop next door!
Good selection of herbal teas, large portion sizes will fill you up.
I had scampi, which came with chips and salad, and my partner had the haggis neeps and tatties.
Food was of average, nothing to write home abut, but tasty enough, and not greasy.
Good selection of home made pies and cakes.
Will fill you up for the journey home.
The gents toilets which doubles as the disabled toilet required a clean.

“What a hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2011

Very unasuming on the outside but when we stepped foot indoors and looked at the menu we knew we'd found a good place. Everything on the menu was home-made and absoutely delicious! Why can't everywhere serve food like this! Cozy, excellent service and at a great price too.

We went there for breakfast and were absolutely delighted. The food was plenty and tasted really good, and the prices were average.

“Slow service and overpriced.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2011

Service was very slow. We had to wait to be given a menu and then not given time to look before being asked if we were ready. We asked for a minute to order but then several minutes later had to attract the attention of the waitress to place our order. My friend had the special of moroccan lamb, couscous and flat bread and she said it was lovely - £10.95 was probably reasonable. I had the steak baguette and was expecting sliced steak with perhaps some fried onion and salad. I got some salad in the baguette and a very, very thin slice of beef ham laid on top. At £5.95 I was expecting something a little nicer as this is what I pay in Glasgow for a delicious steak sandwich on foccacia.
