“Wee treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2014

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Loch Fyne Hotel. From the start all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere and our room was very comfortable and clean. The view from the bar over the Loch was stunning. All the food was excellent, mostly we ate from the 6 course taster menu but did sample the A La Carte menu for a small supplement. The waiting staff in the restaurant were very friendly and professional. We made use of the leisure facilities on a few occasions, pool, sauna etc - very relaxing and a lovely view over the Loch. I had a couple of Spa treatments - again the staff were helpful and friendly and the treatments were first class.

All in all 10 out of 10 for this hotel. We will certainly be back and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

We stayed at the Loch Fyne hotel for a second time within the last year and were very pleased to say that the overall standards of accomodation, food and service were as good as our previous stay. We booked a mid-week two day stay with Dinner, B & B and as part of the package had three spa treatments for my wife and myself. Meals were a 6 course taster menu but we did sample for a small supplement courses from the main menu. All food was exceptionally good and service excellent. Room was standard but quite comfortable apart from the herd of marauding elephants above us ( next time we stay we will ask for a room on the top floor ). Spa treatments were done by two ladies and wife and I were massaged and pampered side by side. Full marks to the Spa staff, massage was really good (Laura, I think) found knots in my back which I did not know were there. Sauna, turkish and pool were lovely and we sat in the hot tub outside while the rain battered down, magic! The hotel was busy due to the 5pm deals which were available but I booked direct with the hotel and got a good deal on the Couples Rejuvenating package. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Get one on the top floor.

We booked Loch Fyne Hotel after my parents gifted us money for Christmas to have a little break away. We have stayed here at least twice before, the first time being about 15 years ago. Whilst the look of the hotel is pretty much the same, the atmosphere is completely different. The hotel used to have a lovely special, intimate feel about it, like you had found a hidden gem. It is now part of a chain and is so busy, even for January that it has lost it's charm. Almost all of the staff are still lovely, very chatty and welcoming. The thing that really let it down was the food at dinner. We booked a two night deal which came with a six course taster menu, so very disappointing and not at all like the beautiful dishes that we were used to from Loch Fyne. The breakfasts are wonderful though, perfect to set you up for a chilly day out!

The tap water in our room unfortunately tasted awful.

The room itself was on the third floor and quite basic but very clean and comfortable.

The pool and spa area is as nice as always was but the water had quite a high level of chorine making it quite cloudy.

It is still a nice relaxing break but from someone who has came here a few times it has changed and just doesn't have that special feel anymore. We probably won't return, which I feel quite sad about.

We took a trip here as a group of 6 girls. The hotel and spa is lovely and has a great view. The deals offered are fantastic as it includes a 6 course taster menu, spa treatment and b&b.
Only downside is at the weekend it is full of rowdy hen parties....but once some of our party were moved rooms it was fantastic.
I would suggest to the hotel they put all the hen's in rooms on the same floor to save the noise throughout the whole hotel.

Stunning setting on the banks of Loch Fyne. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was a little tired but it was spotless.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty choice while we also had a very enjoyable dinner in the restaurant. The bar and restaurant are spacious and very comfortable. Good range of local beers.

Grab the comfy chairs by the open fire in reception if you can!!

The pool was a bonus.

We will definitely return.

Just back from an overnight stay. Really enjoyed the beautiful views and friendly service. Food was great and restaurant/ lounge area really is lovely. The spa maybe needs a little TLC. Relaxation room is a little bit worn.....seat cushions stained from oils and creams. Could have a little more atmosphere, lower lighting and scented candles. I had a 2 hour treatment. Very relaxing and therapist made me feel welcome and relaxed. Maybe some WD40 for the squeaky door hinges? I didn't make it to the pool as I went for a snooze after my treatment instead.Overnight I found the twin room nicely decorated and clean. Comfortable beds. A little dark....reading at night was a little difficult but this wouldn't put me off. Bathroom shower dripped ....something we didn't notice till we were both up a 3 am with the irritating noise. I'm sure if staying a second night the hotel would have fixed this for us. I would definitely go again, just a couple of little things to fine tune and make it a great stay. One night couples retreat package was £150 with dinner bed breakfast. We spent £290 by the time we upgraded the spa treatments (£90)and paid for drinks (£50 for a bottle of wine a couple of g&ts and a cheeky nightcap.

Room Tip: Room 107 will be lovely when the rhododendron are in bloom. Looks onto a garden edged with large rho...

My fiancée and I have just returned from our 2nd stay at Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa. We were not disappointed. We stayed on a DB&B basis which included use of the leisure facilities. Dinner was the 6 course taster menu which I can certainly recommend. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The quality of produce and the efficient friendly staff throughout the hotel made for a most relaxing break. The wet, windy weather was left at the door! Our thanks to all.
