This was a highlight of my break in Inveraray, absolutely loved the Maritime Museum, a real treasure.
Got speaking to the staff and it's privately owned, no funding received from anyone to keep this running, it must be a real labour of love.
Very informative regarding all aspects of maritime heritage around Scotland.
Also included great info on Neil Munro, the writer of the Para Handy Stories.
Loads of information on display and lots for kids to play with!
Really clever Pirate illusion too.
Would highly recommend the museum but don't expect it to be a pristine, lottery ran attraction, it is an informative, rough around the edges 100 year old boat that has loads of character and even more information.
