Ordered 3 courses for £20 from a set menu of 3 options per course. The selection wasn't great but at such a low price it didn't matter too much - there was something for everyone.
The mussels for starter were delicious, there were loads of them and were serves in a garlic and coriander butter sauce. By far the best part of the meal. Sadly my main of roast beef was very dry and although the accompaniments were good, there's no excuse for overcooked miserable looking beef. Even with gravy I couldn't finish it. The puddings were nice and there was a good selection but the portion size was pretty small with a token gesture of cream.
Staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations.
I'd eat here again at the same price as it's very good value (and the wine list is well priced) but I wouldn't rush back.

We recently stayed in Inverary and ate at this hotel for the 2 nights we were there. The George is everyone’s go to in Inverary but on looking at their menu the Argyll was much cheaper and much less crowded. The food was pretty decent pub food. Very reasonably priced and the staff were excellent. Good for kids too.

I stayed at the hotel and had a free meal on our first night as part of a groupon. The food was really good, and reasonably priced for the quality. I would have happily have paid for the meal. Portion were a good size and staff attentive without being intrusive. Add the stunning view. (If you can get one of the three window tables and clear weather) and I was extremely happy with this dinning experience

we had a bar meal which was very good - a tiny bit pricey for my scampi which was over £10 but was good all the same. The other 3 people with me two of which had the steak pie could not finish it as it was full of meat and they thoroughly enjoyed it and went on about it for a hour or so about how good and how full of meat it was which you dont often get now. Our other friend has a meat and cheese salad which she also enjoyed and she said was just right for her. We had breakfast in the Restaurant and it was excellent with lots of choice and lots of it and the staff couldnt be more accommodating especially as we wanted extra toast. Would recommend
