“Just lovely”
Reviewed 12 October 2013 via mobile

This classic B&B has a commanding view of Oban, the harbor and the nearby isles. The building is beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The owners are absolutely charming and breakfast was dandy. With the winding streets it takes a minute to find but it is so worth it. Just a two minute walk to downtown.

Stayed two nights at Dunheanish in September, 2013. The room was lovely, and we had a beautiful view looking out over the bay. The bed was really comfortable with luxurious bedding. William and Linda are amazing hosts, William can answer any questions you have. Breakfast was superb, we had the smoked salmon and eggs both mornings, in a lovely breakfast room overlooking the harbour. The house is situated on a steep hill coming up from town, take a taxi with your luggage if you don't have a car but the steep hill of course affords the lovely view. We took a day tour with Bowmans to the Isle of Mull and Iona, it was really good. Highly recommend Dunheanish, you won't get better accommodation and hospitality than this.

We stayed for 2 nights in a side sea view room. The house is set of the hillside with amazing views over the harbour (the walk back from town after dinner will help burn off the pudding!).Our room was a great size and very clean as was the rest of the house. William and Linda were great hosts and breakfast is lovely, enjoyed in the breakfast room overlooking the harbour. Would definitely recommend at stay at Dunheanish if you're visiting Oban.

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the fabulous view from the first floor (UK) room that looked out over the town and harbour and the islands beyond. The room was very spacious and the bed large and comfortable. The en suite bathroom was small but clean and everything worked well. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. William is a great host.

We had a comfortable night at Dunheanish. Sadly we weren't there long enough to really enjoy the facilities and view but if you get the chance stay a few nights or get in early and don't book an early ferry.

We spent 5 nights at Dunheanish Guest House. My boyfriend and me stayed in room 1 and absolutely loved it. We arrived quite late in the evening but William welcomed us very warm and friendly ... warm and cosy was also our room. The bed was fab and oh so comfy. Indeed i slept soundly for 5 nights in a row. The views were to die for (if the sun showed her face) and the room was spotless clean. Our friends stayed in room 5 upstairs which was also very cosy and offered even more spectacular views.
William was very helpful and friendly. We all felt very welcome at his guest house.
Breakfast was always as we wished and very delicious. Actually I can't think of a single thing to complain about ... so I won't ;)
We would definetly come back to Dunheanish Guest House.

Thank you for a wonderful stay, William!
Best wishes
Diana & Rene

We stayed one night on our way to Mull, and promised ourselves a longer stay next time. The room was huge, with a large comfortable four poster bed. The main thing was the view - stunning full length windows overlooking the bay from high above the town. We were reluctant to leave the view even to meet friends in town for dinner. The bathroom was small, but adequate - functional.
Breakfast was very good with special dietary requests and preferences amply cared for. The breakfast room is comfortable and quite intimate, and after a few minutes a lively discussion was had re the relative merits of Glasgow and Edinburgh between guests from Canada, England, Scotland and the US, and including our host William.

Room Tip: Room 4 has a four poster and a fabulous view. Tiny but perfectly functional bathroom.
