Booked this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend and was also delighted to hear from our guest house owner that he thought we had chosen well. It was buzzing on a Tuesday evening. I started with whisky hot-smoked salmon served with horseradish puffs and my husband had langoustines. Both starters were delicious. My main course was pan-fried halibut on a kedgeree risotto, which was a delicate marriage of flavours so good that I didn't want it to end! We both had the same dessert, which was beautifully presented: a cardamom and white chocolate mousse set inside a fine dark chocolate wrap, with berries and a vanilla and blueberry ice cream. The service was excellent. The restaurant does not have a view, but to be honest, it really didn't matter because the food was so accomplished that I would not have been paying attention to a view anyway! There is an interesting and well-priced wine list. I would definitely return and would even go to Oban specially in order to do so.
