Stayed at The Perle Oban hotel recently on a visit to the Iona. Very large bedroom with comfortable beds and l’occitane toiletries. A bonus. An excellent breakfast and very hospitable and accommodating staff. Will be back!

The Oban pearl looked better in on line pics when deciding to stay there.
It was a little disappointing. Very basic, it had been re done and it was clear it was a quick and cheap re do.
The bathroom is the smallest bathroom ever. The room very basic, but clean and bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was average, reception service needs some attention but he service in the restaurant was good.
No parking at all you have to go pay for parking across the road, and it rains all the time. The hotel should pay for the parking if they do not have.
There was a fire alert that went off at 1.30 am
If you have medical issues or are older this is not the place for you. They need to build rooms on ground level.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any good rooms unless its a secret, try get one facing the harbor we had a street view

Dear Melanie MacKinnon,

Thank you for your review of your stay.
We are sad to hear that you did not really enjoy your time with us. The refurbishment of Perle Oban was undertaken under huge investment in order to create a happy and relaxing environment, retaining the old character of the Heritage listed features and marrying this with a modern and fresh look. Room sizes and shapes do vary due to the layout of the building.
It is unfortunate that due to our location and era, circa 1882, in which our building was first constructed we do not have parking of our own, a situation faced by many of the establishments located in the centre of historic Oban, but we are luckily placed only a 2 minute walk from a very reasonably priced public car park as well as being surrounded by on street parking.
The west coast of Scotland is subject to the prevailing weather conditions generated over the Atlantic, and rain is often a feature of this, a situation that we obviously have no control over.
It is a legal requirement that all public buildings provide adequate fire safety procedures. We apologise for any disturbance caused by the triggering of the fire alarm from another guest room, however it is there for your safety and was dealt with as quickly as possible by our team of trained staff.
We hope you return to Oban in the future, hopefully during better weather conditions when we're sure you will have a much more positive experience.
Kind regards
Rob Dixon
General Manager

Very convenient location. It is a very short walk from the rail station and the ferry terminal. Front of the hotel overlooks the harbour. The room I had was not huge but was very comfortable and well equipped. Bathroom had L'Occitane toiletries, bathrobes. Coffee machine instead of instant!

Room Tip: Sea-view rooms are more expensive, but the view is lovely

Dear Rosemary M,

Thank you very much for your review. It is lovely to hear that you found the facilities and added touches in your room so agreeable as great thought was put into deciding which products would best enhance the stay of our guests.
We are fortunate indeed in our location, which provides both excellent access to transport links and superb views across Oban harbour towards the islands.
Thank you once again.
Kind regards

Cheerful front desk staff greeted us to this beautiful newly renovated hotel. Perfect view of bay right across the street. Fun but sparse downtown shopping.
Great bar with an accommodating bartender named Dave who googled “whisky sour” which he had never heard of and surprisingly brought to our table!
Great service and very clean fresh accommodations!

The Perle Oban Hotel has been upgraded to an extremely high standard and the rooms are filled with top quality extras - Nespresso machines, L'Occitane beauty products, Bose speaker with Bluetooth and the nicest bedding ever!
The staff there were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble, especially the girls at Reception.
The food at the restaurant was also fabulous and would definitely recommend. Breakfast had lots of choice and the staff in the morning worked their socks off to maintain a high standard of service and ensure there was always what we needed to start off the day.
