We were delighted to join a Ceilidh for Hogmany and were not disappointed in terms of the ceilidh band, which was fantastic. They found a good mixture between ceilidh dancing songs and a few other scottish songs as interludes, to give you a chance to catch your breath. The dances were also well explained by the band, so everyone knew what they were doing, regardless of experience.

The venue itself has a great dancefloor (but watch out for a moving floorboard!), however it was a bit dingy inside, some of the chairs and tables were a bit dirty, though it did not distract too much from the evening. There were not enough tables and chairs for the number of people there, and infact there was also not enough people for the size of the dancefloor, perhaps some more promotion is required. In general it was a good crowd, a mixture of locals and tourists of all ages. After midnight, a rock band came on, they were good but a bit noisy and we left at this point.

Recommended, the ceilidh band was great and we had a good evening, but the owners could spend a bit more effort on the interior and increasing the numbers for the ceilidh.

Young band and caller which helped to keep the atmosphere 'youthful'. Not too expensive either.

Could do with more seating and tables as they were in high demand when we visited (New Years Eve)

We were fortunate to catch the show on their final night of the 2012 summer season. Very talented young people full of energy and enthusiasm for their living musical and dance heritage. Join in the ceilidh dancing with the audience. Be prepared to share a table with others as seating is limited; this was no problem as we enjoyed a nice conversation with a couple from Glasgow before the show and during the breaks. Excellent entertainment for the price.

Enjoyed the ceilidh and it was a shame that there not too many people there - probably around 30. Band was very good and the blonde singer sang beautifully in Gaelic. worth a visit and not expensive

Was uncertain how this was going to be but it was great. Four musicians and a dancer performed mostly traditional Scottish music, some in the gaelic, and the dancer performed very traditional Scots dances. All the performers were excellent. The really fun part was for several of the numbers they invited the audience to come up and dance the reels and other dances, sort of like Scots square-dancing. They would show everyone how to do the dances, which were pretty easy to catch on to. We had a mix of ages from 20's to 60's in the audience, pretty evenly split and all ages seemed to enjoy the dancing very much. Great fun. At the end of the regular part of the show, the musicians invited the audience to stay for the ceilidh when they played for dancing only for about an hour more. You could see more locals coming in just for this part of the program. Place is very simple, but adequate. There is a bar for drinks, but that's it. I would definitely recommend this and would do it again if in Oban.
