This hotel is situated on Corran Esplanade and the restaurant faces the bay. We were not resident but we were being entertained to a meal by relatives. We wanted to find somewhere fairly quiet with convenient parking. Be aware that in the season, parking is a nightmare in Oban mainly due to ferry passengers who abandon their vehicles indiscriminately. This was not a particularly special occasion and we were hoping for a nicely prepared and presented meal at affordable prices. We tend to go for a main course + dessert as we find we don't need a starter. We were somewhat embarrassed when opening the menu to discover that main courses were priced from £14.95 upwards although vegetarian options were from £12 the day we were there. Most desserts were £5.95. The tables looked nice with fresh linen and the service was good. The food was nicely presented on the plate and my sea bass fillets were delicious; our host who had the same did not enjoy his, which were dry and rather small. We would not return there for an ordinary meal, only for a special occasion.
