We had the most amazing view from our room and spent lots of time time chatting with the owners. Lovely, friendly people with interesting stories about the guest house & Oban

We attended Oban Live. This is a must for music lovers. Fantastic atmosphere & brilliant music in such a beautiful setting

We will be back next year!

Room tip: The guest house is on a very steep hill. Taxis are very cheap for the journey back at night

Loved our stay at the Dungallan Country House. Mike made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of great local advice. We were very comfortable there - the breakfasts were outstanding and the location was so handy. The views of the Bay and the Harbour were very special.

Room tip: maybe ask for a room with a harbour-side view

Fabulously friendly and helpful couple are Marion and Mike and this establishment is stunningly good. Great views of the harbour and the best place to stay in Oban by a mile. The breakfast is very good and they will arrange and advise on evening meals to assist. I will be back.

My buddy was over from Oz and wanted to see Oban so we booked into this gem of a guest house for an overnight....i think we could have stayed all week....warm and friendly hosts, spotlessly clean, and I mean spotless....superb brekky, the most comfortable bed i have slept on in years, stunning elevated location with views over the bay and an amazing selection of whisky at the welcoming bar...
God, I could have moved in....will definitely stay here again when next visiting Oban..

Room tip: sea view rooms on request.

Last minute booking as a treat. The room cost £208 so I was expecting something classy and special. Sadly, there was nothing remarkable about our stay. The room was unremarkable ( usual standard of provisions) but no extras like dressing gowns / slippers or a 'wee dram'. The bathroom supplies were unremarkable ( usual supplies) but no fabulous soaps or soaks. The room furnishings were fine and comfortable but again no more so than expected. Some of the decorative furnishings were a bit quirky and not what I was expecting from a 5 star establishment. Breakfast was disappointing as only an hour was allocated on a Saturday. Again, it was nothing to write home about.. decent but not fabulous ( cereals in boxes, no porridge, standard cooked items, butter in little plastic portions, no regional preserves ) . The general feel was of a good quality / upmarket B and B . I am sorely disappointed as I had been expecting something wonderful given the price tag.
