Very nice afternoon out and value for money £10 each for an hours worth of sailing looking for seals. Dont mind if you dont see them, they are very shy. Also a salmon farm here.

We found this Boat Cruise by chance as we walked along the Esplanade at Oban. The trip was full, but an hour later we returned and had a "private" boat cruise to ourselves. Only the 4 of us left on this splendid Seal Colony Cruise which lasted an hour. The Skipper, Ron Stevenson was very friendly and informative. He gave us a safety talk before we left. On our way out of Oban Bay, via the North Channel, he pointed out some of the landmarks including Dunollie Castle, Hutchinson's Memorial and the Islands of Mull and Lismore. The highlight of the cruise is seeing the Seal Colony with Seals basking on Sgeir Dhon, and then the Salmon Farm with tens of thousands of salmon in the nursery cages being fed from a barge using a controlled feeding mechanism. Ron's commentary was very informative and it was a pleasure to cruise with him.

The boat is a 10m Catamaran with unrivalled stability, purpose built in 2006 for the wildlife passenger business. Licensed for a maximum of 12 passengers, the boat has relatively easy access for disabled passengers. You can safely move around quite freely to take photographs. The boat has MCA Certification for within 60 miles of Oban.

This is a very highly recommended cruise. The cost was very reasonable at £10 each for adults and £5 each for children. SUPERB activity to do whilst visiting Oban.

What a wonderful day we had on the Mara Mhor! The day was beautiful, no rain in sight, and we set off for a 2hr adventure. Skipper Ron Stevenson started out the cruise by showing us a map of where we would be going as well as overviewing some safety measures (not that we needed any at all). Throughout the cruise Ron would share knowledge about the history of Oban, as well as the many castles, and monuments. It was truly a wonderful day to be on a boat, listen to some history, and take glorious pictures. Thank you to Ron for making the last day of our Oban trip one to remember!!
