The staff went out of their way to help my kids while I spent a lot of time browsing. They also shared their expertise with non-kids like myself.

“Interesting & Great Conversation”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

This is a gem, we struggled to find it, better signage within the town would be nice (council help them out here) we spent a wonderful hour inside looking at the wonderful collection of memrobelia and speaking with one of their volunteers who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Please be sure to donate when you visit to ensure that it will remain for as long as possible.

“Small, enthusiastic museum”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This is a tiny place run by volunteers who have displayed every piece of information about the war and Oban in their space. It's interesing, free to get in - donations are welcome. There is a nice short video about Oban and it's certainly a place to escape the rain if it appears.

A worthwhile visit even on a sunny day. If you like wartime history then this is for you. A great insight into Oban's history in both peace time and whilst at war. Lots to see and read and a very enjoyable stay. Its free but you make a donation as they do rely on them.

We called in one afternoon, and was amazed at the collection they have. Completely run by volunteers and free, there is a donation box inside and well worth a couple of pounds to keep this going for future generations, we learnt a great deal about the local area and it was lovely looking at the old photographs.
