“Great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

The views over Oban and out to the islands from here are well worth the climb up the hill, and on a sunny day is a nice place to sit for a while.

“Cracking views over the bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

Well worth the trek to the top of the hill to see this unusual folly. Outstanding views over Oban bay and the surrounding islands. A lovely place to take a breather and absorb the scenery. Recommended to visit at sunset to see the lovely shadows.

“Lovely views in evening”

Interesting monument (great story behind its construction) with colourful knitted lamp-posts on the way up! Well-kept and amazing views - recommend early evening with sun going down and clouds over sea.....

“walked up the hill to a bagpipe practice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

We walked up the hill to the 'tower' which you could see from everywhere in Oban. It looked like a amphitheatre of some sort. Inside there are paths round and wonderful views back to Oban - especially since this was a sunny evening. A group of people were doing a bagpipe practice, and children doing Scottish dance practice. I think they do it in this location once a week. It is a fairly steep walk up to the 'tower' but well worth it to look back down

“wonderful views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

We went up to see the sun set and it was well worth the effort. It is easy to miss the last sign to the tower which is on a garden wall so make sure someone is on the look-out.
