Visited here for a quick lunchtime snack after a recommendation from a family member who had visited many years ago. Dogs are welcome which is a bonus when having your dog on holiday with you and a bowl of water was provided for our beloved pooch. Our food was tasty and reasonably priced and my fiancé enjoyed his Real Ale pint. Our only gripe was that the service was very slow. There was only one guy on who I think may have just started working there as there were a few signs to suggest this, so probably not his fault. We weren't really in a hurry but were there for a lot longer than we anticipated, and having a deadline for catching the last ferry back to the island we were staying on ended up having to rush back, unable to stop for photograph opportunities of the lovely scenery.
We will definitely be back though, perhaps booking into one of the lovely chalets on site and then we can enjoy The Barn without rushing away. Well worth a visit and would of been a score of 5 had the service been a wee but quicker.

We enjoyed a lunch here on Easter Friday. We drove two miles out of Oban to the rurally set Bar and Restaurant. We all had the soup and sandwich combo. Fresh and very tasty, the staff were really friendly.
We have not been here for ages. There has been a change of ownership.
We will go back soon to try an evening meal.

Stumbled across this wee place while we were staying at The Galley of Lorne Inn just further down the road. Thought we would have a wee drink while sitting outside on a sunny April day. 4 hours later!......after a wonderful meal and walk around the chalets we left saying we would come back again one day soon. Our daughter loved the adventure playground which meant we could relax and enjoy the scenery. Lovely outdoor seated area although we sat inside. The food was fab....served very quickly and our 2 year old scoffed her macaroni and garlic bread. Excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly - even charged my mobile phone for me for 10 minutes as my battery was low!! Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and would recommend this little gem of a place. Well done!

Very homely and welcoming. The food was great value and nice big portions, after a day out walking just what you need. The children were made very welcome and with a play area outside it was a very safe place for them also.

My wife and I live locally, and have been frequenting this place for bar lunches during the summer and when friends and family visit us for the past 30 years.
Over that time it has changed, there have been a variety of owners and managers, but the present restaurant owners are making it "their own". Over the past 3 years there have been a number of improvements and refinements (for example table service, and consequently an excellent customer caring atmosphere). The menu is varied and although the prices have gone up slightly - but are still not expensive - the standard of food is now excellent. It goes far beyond a usual bar menu, and this establishment can now fully justify itself as a restaurant. Last Sunday we went and my wife and I had the locally sourced lamb casserole, which was superb, with loads of excellent veg and potato to go with it. I especially like this place because the real ale beer is just great - and a necessity for all real ale fans, is served at room temperature, not chilled, which you still get in some places in Scotland. Try the Highlander ale, you won't go wrong.
If the weather is good you can sit and eat outside, there is a duck pond (not accessible so kids are safe) and there is a reasonable children's play park. This restaurant is 2 miles off the main road, but wiorth deviating to. Lovely spot, great experience. Well done.
