Nice average hotel staff lovely however I am currently listening to the cleaning staff shouting and laughing loudly and have done since 9am was the same yesterday and we have a long drive ahead of us today and had a late night .the cleaning cupboard is on our floor so we are absolutely loving how that is being slammed constantly. Yesterday we after finaly getting back to sleep we were woke up 2ce to ask if we wanted our room cleaned this is after listening to ppl above and below us all night as rooms are paperthin.fine for an overnight stsy but staff seem to be oblivious that on a weekend away you might want to sleep past 9am .

This place is fine for a quick stopover in Oban.Rooms are clean and spacious but noisy. You can hear people walking around and chatting in other rooms. Also the smell from the restaurant is prevalent in the rooms and corridors. There is a lot of street noise as well. However it's a decent room for the price.Breakfast is a bit spartan. The cooked food is good but no choice of fruit juices and no "continental " choice. No Toiletries in room so bring your own.Wi -fi does not work.Parking available.

Stayed at the Rowantree for 2 nights from Hogmanay until January 2nd. This was the first time we had stayed in this hotel and on arrival the staff were very friendly & welcoming. The hotel is nice with a restaurant/bar, small lounge area & free parking at the rear. There is no elevator however the rooms are all on the 2nd & 3rd floors. The rooms are nice, small, modern and clean, Tea & coffee making facilities, TV's, iron/ironing board & hair dryers are all within each room. We stayed in room 208 and it faces the front of the hotel which can be a little noisy late at night and first thing with traffic. Breakfast at the hotel was fine, lots of choice & they will make most things to accommodate your needs. We had dinner in the hotel steakhouse on the Wednesday evening which was fine. The staff were all very helpful offering advice on the menu and the food was good. We were there with another 2 couples and we all got a great deal for the time of year. The rooms were all cleaned and serviced on New Year's Day which was an added bonus and if I am back in Oban I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are disturbed by noise ask for a room at the rear of the hotel and if you are not that great...

Booked this hotel for an overnight and the hotel rooms etc have just recently been refurbished and they are super. The bed was like beds in the big hotels in London huge and the room was lovely too with lots of nice touches. The Bathroom was excellent, good shower and hand wash and shower gel and shampoo etc. Only three things stood out, one no lift which is not good for elderly or disabled people. The residents lounge wasnt very big and the Lights in the hall came on eventually when you went towards your room door but once I couldnt actually see where the room was. On arrival unfortunately the maid forgot to leave milk for us to have but as soon as we asked it was sent up to the room. The breakfast was good but had it been as good as the one we had the previous morning I would have given this Hotel 10 out of 10. Fruit juice was in a carton - could you not big a few big cartons and put out the juice in a jug nicer. Only a few pieces of fruit and yoghurt. The choice was good for either kippers, scrambled egg on toast, poached eggs on toast or full cooked breakfast but I felt that my cooked breakfast could have been more - 3 rashers of streaky bacon, one sausage, one tomato, one fried egg and half of a large mushroom it could have done with a potato scone or beans or even two sausages. It was very good however. I would recommend this hotel and if I am back in Oban I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms to the back of the Hotel look onto the car park but probably for the best so you dont get the...

Very modern, cosy and spotlessly clean room with a fantastic bath and shower. Breakfast was excellent and the price was great, ideally located too and with convenient offroad parking. Wifi didn't work at all but not a particularly big issue and the staff were helpful and very friendly

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst in Oban on a business trip. The reception staff were very welcoming. My room was at the top of the hotel so a wee climb up the stairs but well worth the effort. Spotlessly clean, modern and good quality fittings with a smashing big shower. Obviously recently refurbished to a high standard. Lots of lamps and an abundance of power points. The restaurant has a fair choice for a steakhouse. My sea bass was extremely well cooked and presented equally the beef stroganoff the evening before. The restaurant also seems to be popular with non guests which is always a good sign. The waiting staff were friendly, professional and made me feel relaxed which was very much appreciated as it can be awkward dining alone while away from home. My room was to the rear overlooking the car park which has limited spaces but I had no problem parking on both nights. Free Wi-Fi is a bonus. Overall a positive experience and I would certainly recommend this hotel. I hope the Manager appreciates the superb staff are an asset to the business.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter as the hotel is situated on the main road.
