We are coming to the end of a 2 night break here which has been absolutely wonderful. We wanted a cottage in a quiet location where we could go for walks with our dog and just chill for a while. This cottage has exceeded our expectations in that regards. It has been thoughtfully designed, fitted out to a high standard and impeccably maintained. Lots of utensils in the kitchen, you won't need to bring anything and all bedding, towels provided. Lovely views to the hills from the kitchen, lounge and pretty enclosed garden with decking and furniture. Excellent WiFi was an added bonus. Jean can recommend walks in the area, we did a stunner; dive to the end of Talia Reservoir and park where the road bends to climb up the hill. Follow the river through the valley and up a steady incline until you reach the waterfall. The village of Tweedsmuir has an interesting church which is worth a visit. I can highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to escape to the hills.

“Relaxing holiday base”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is a self-contained cottage within the old telephone exchange and is a lovely, quiet, relaxing area with private views to the rear garden. We had an enjoyable stay, the friendly owners and Anna the dog living in the front property by the road. The amenities are excellent, including underfloor heating and well equipped kitchen. A great base for exploring Moffat, Peebles and the Borders.

We have just returned from a very hot and very relaxing break at this lovely cottage.
We arrived early but had a lovely welcome with tea and delicious homemade coffee cake (our favourite). The cottage has everything you need with a very pretty garden with decking area to sit out on. The area itself is stunning lots of lovely walks and very quiet. The towns of Peebles and Moffat are within a 30 min drive and are both petty little towns again with lots of nice walks in the area around the town.Would recomend visiting Kailzie gardens on the outskirts of Peebles would like to have visited the Botanical gardens but they do not allow dogs in.Edinbugh is only about 35 miles away so good for a day out..Loved the visits from the dog and the chicken, our dog especially looked forward to them.So good we have already booked for next year.Lovely and very welcoming couple Ian and Jean own the house and will help you with anything you need to know .

“Special cottage a hidden gem”
Reviewed 14 January 2013 for a stay in January 2013

had a 1 night stay on sat 12th January as a gateway last minute. On arrival not what we expected but the place really grew on us and had a magical feel about it.
We were lucky enough to wake up on Sunday morning to thick fresh snow so me and my son, 4yrs old, built a snowman as my wife had a relaxing bath in the super tub and bathroom. Great memories and will def be back. Thanks jean.
