This is a well kept, and updated Museum in the Wilton Park Area of Hawick. This year one of the displays was for the Common Riding Festival. It was extremely well presented.
There is also a Jimmy Guthrie exhibit upstairs so don't miss that is you go.
Too many displays to talk about, but don't miss this Museum if you are in the Hawick Area, and it is free.

Excellent display of motorcycle racing memorabilia from different era,s. Great to see the many trophies and cups that both these racing legends amassed during their careers and to get up close to the motorbikes and see how they had progressed from Guthrie.s 1930's bikes, kit etc to the modern Hislop bikes and leathers etc. We also visited the Cafe in the Park a 5 minute walk from the Museum and had toasted panini and very good coffee while waiting for the Museum to open .Highly Recommended.

We gave the museum a visit due to it being the 500th anniversary of the Hawick Common Riding as there had been extra exhibits to see in connection with this event and is now a permanent fixture. The exhibits in the museum cover local wildlife, Hawick Common Riding which is very interesting and a video show is available outlining the history behind this event, an excellent exhibition of Steve Hislop, British Superbike champion and Jimmy Guthrie who won 19 Gran Prix wins. The museum is situated within The lovely Wilton Park and overall a very nice place to visit and it's free entry

What a find. I thought this would be hokie, but it was great. History of the towns links to the woolen industry, exhibits of the local motor bike heros and the staff were very enthusiastic and knowledgable. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I took friends to visit whilst on a tour of the park. The place is very well laid out and full of interesting exhibits. Of particular interest was the history of the Common Riding and the rooms dedicated to the two late, great motor cyclists of their day.
