Stayed overnight last Saturday and was blown away by the welcome extended by Lynn and her staff. We were put in room 3, this has a massive double bed exceedingly comfortable, large flat screen telly on the wall, large bathroom with power shower. Room very clean and well cared for.

Lynn goes that extra mile to make you feel you are her most important guest and it was very much appreciated, breakfast on Sunday cooked to order was delicious. My one negative comment would be that I felt 9am was a little late for breakfast, but them I am a very early riser!

I will definitely make my way back to this delightful hotel. Well done.

Room Tip: Room 3 had a very comfortable, large double bed and was set back from the noisier part of the road.

We stayed here after our first days walking the Borders Abbeys Way. The owner met us at the door and was extremely helpful, friendly and keen to make our visit to her hotel special. We even had the opportunity to choose from two rooms. The main hotel is lovely and the annex, where we stayed has had a lot of work done to make it more modern. Thank you for a lovely breakfast!

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex which was a little noisy, but not a problem. These rooms are however, bigger...

Wonderful staff and owners! Family of three stayed comfortably-even with the unexpected heat and no A/C-just the Scottish way for a warm summer. The beds and pillow were sooo comfortable. The breakfast was fast and filling-good selections. Good wine selections. Very Family friendly! When moved to the main bldg, she gave free drinks to all three of us for the inconvienence-though it was no problem from our point of view. Lynn and staff were very attentive to all Turnbull Clan members from around the world coming for the reunion. We are an outside family-but due to the building type, little outside sitting in back-though adequate. This was an electronics free holiday. I would recommend to family, friends, etc. !

Room Tip: Ask for main building if you have kids-so when in the pub/dining room, you are in the same building...

We received a good welcome and got a really nice bedroom with a comfortable bed and super big television and the breakfast was lovely. We had our meal in the hotel and whilst it wasn't fine dining it was tasty and filling pub style food. The bar was nice and the prices of the drinks was very reasonable. However we didn't get much sleep due to the noise till three in the morning by drunks shouting in the street after the nearby pub closed. The hotel is well placed with the town centre only a few minutes walk away. The town of Hawick itself was a bit disappointing with many shops closed down or boarded up. The hotel was good value and the owners are doing a good job refurbishing and yes we would return but not at the weekend when the pubs have music events and are busy.

Well situated in the centre of Hawick and on one of the quieter streets. Controlled street parking but ample parking to the rear of the hotel. First impressions were good- small friendly hotel with a warm , welcoming and modern looking, dining room and separate bar. I didn't dine there but the following morning's breakfast was made to order and hit the mark. Staff were friendly and helpful. Things changed tho when one went upstairs. The bedroom was clean and smart looking and was well appointed. The bathroom, however was very disappointing. It had an over the bath old fashioned electric shower and the shower head was cracked and leaked. No more than an adequate spray. Toiletries were less than average, towels were thin and frayed a bit. This would be an excellent wee hotel if only they did something about the bathroom in room 3 at any rate. I wasn't picking up the tab so unable to comment on value for money.

The rooms are excellent; our double would have qualified as a suite anywhere else! Welcoming staff, Wi-Fi available, clean, comfortable, private car parking.
The breakfast was disappointing. Porage seemed "instant" and although I asked for sugar free, it was sickly sweet - inedible to me. As I chose porage I seemed ineligible for even a small cooked breakfast. My husband had the full one, but found the bacon hard, overcooked, the sausage inedible, (what was it made from??) and solid fired egg.
I would recommend the hotel as a very good base for touring and hope the morning chef can buck his/her ideas up.
