“Lovely cottage set in a pretty village”

The cottage is actually a modern built property with wonderful high ceiling in the living area. Everything is provided for a very relaxing stay. Close to Melrose and within walking distance of the Borders Railway. The owners are delightful and very keen that their guests have everything required. The wonderful array of local food and drink on arrival was unexpected and very much appreciated. We would absolutely recommend this holiday accommodation.

“Absolutely superb, the cottage, the area, everything!”

Booked for a relaxing New Year stay in Melrose. The cottage (actually a very modern, thoughtfully designed luxury property), was everything we wanted, and exceeded our expectations. I could live there! To start you drive through Melrose itself which is an untouched immaculate Scottish town. You drive up to the cottage and the gardens and surrounding area is so well kept, clean and very welcoming. Open the front door, and walk into a warm, open plan living area with everything that you could possibly need for a short stay or a longer holiday. Honestly there is nothing that you need that isn't available. I could go on and on, but just book it you will not be disappointed-I would totally recommend this cottage-Mike is wonderful, friendly, and so are the neighbours-We will definitely be back-oh and New Year in Melrose is superb-pipers-fireworks-singing-excellent. Loved, loved loved it!

Excellent , the feedback from the owners was great , the house itself was situated well to visit the Scottish borders , lots of culture and local attractions within a short driving distance from the house. The house is in my opinion the best self catering house I have rented . The owners had thought of everything. Its always nice when the house you rent exceeds your expectations.

What a place, a lot has been said already about this place and they are all true. The property itself is immaculate and everything has been thought about and considered. The location of the cottage is so good we were able to visit most of the border area and further afield with ease. The owners are lovely people and nothing is too much trouble for them.

“You thought of everything!”

What a great find! This holiday cottage is beautiful and so comfortable. Mike and Pat thought of everything to make it home from home. When we have had self catering holidays in the past we have had to take a lot of home comforts - including toilet rolls - but not here. The welcome pack was the start of a lovely week, despite the weather. It was too cold to sit on the patio at any time of the day but we took much pleasure from sitting watching the birds and their fledglings feeding while in the warmth of the lounge. When the new railway to Edinburgh opens in September this cottage will be a great getaway with access to that beautiful city, together with the fabulous Borders countryside on the doorstep. I hope we can visit Orchard Cottage again soon!

This was our second stay at Orchard cottage, and it won't be the last!
The cottage is ideally located for walking, sightseeing, golf lovers or just peace and quiet. The hosts Pat and Mike could not be more helpful. Upon arrival to the cottage a welcome pack of everything you need is waiting for you, along with maps and local information.
Orchard cottage itself is beautiful, modern and welcoming. Staying at the cottage is a five star experience and I would recommend it to anyone :-)
