We booked rooms & pre ordered our starters & evening meals for 19-30. we arrived in plenty of time our starters did not turn up till 20-20 & our main meals about 21-20. We asked could they hurry up we were given bread & butter as a put off along with some veg & couple of bowls of chips. Only to find when we got bill they'd charged us a extra £40 for this(supposed to be free). Manager would not come out to see us!
Sadly we would not use this hotel again!

Our party of six was met by helpful friendly staff. All our rooms were clean and comfortable. The food at both dinner and breakfast was exceptional. We were told that the hotel had recently been taken over by a husband and wife team. They have certainly made an impressive start. If we are ever in the area again we will look to stay there again

Thoroughly enjoyed the carvery at this pub in Melrose...perfect for a great value Sunday lunch and at £9.95 reasonably priced for what you get. We went mid afternoon and the meat was slightly dry but plentiful. The accompaniments were fresh and well cooked. Good range of ales and deliciously tempting desserts to which I succumbed! I would recommend and I will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay at the Kings Arms.
Our room was comfortable, clean and warm.
The food in the restaurant was excellent; very well cooked, presented and reasonably priced. We had not thought to book a table for dinner and even although it was very busy, a table was sorted out for us.
Bar prices were also very good and for us, a couple who like to eat, drink and be merry this hotel had everything we could ever want.
The staff however are this hotels best asset, they are quite amazing.
We will definitely be back.

We had an appointment at the Borders General Hospital and so arrived here at 2-35, we asked if we could have lunch but were told they stopped serving at 2-30. The staff at the bar asked us to wait and checked with the kitchen and we were told that yes we could have lunch. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, our meal was excellent and the cost was very reasonable and we will be back.

We stopped at the Kings Arms on the 25th January for 1 night B&B. Upon arrival we were greeted by Anna. She checked us in quickly and discussed if we wanted to book a table for a meal, we booked a table for three (out daughter was joining us later on for the evening meal) Spent a quiet hour waiting in the bar, staff and locals were friendly and beer exceptionally good. The evening meal was brilliant, hot, served quickly, great value for money. We retired to the bar for a dram before going off to bed. The room was warm, clean and very quiet. Breakfast the following morning was very good, my wife had a tradtional Scottish Breakfast whilst I had the very excellent Kings Arms stack. A rare find in these days of modern pubs, nothing was too much trouble, we will certainly be calling again when visiting out daughter.
