Located on the outskirts of Melrose in a quiet cul-de-sac backing on to quiet school playing fields across which it is a short walk into either Melrose or out onto the Tweed riverside. Melrose is well supplied with pubs, restaurants and good quality shops.
The people in the 'Borders' are the most welcoming you could wish to meet in a holiday destination.
It is a great place to connect to Edinburgh or the open country side.
The house has everything you need and all of high quality, Lowland Lettings could not be more helpful and always go that extra to make your stay a very pleasant experience. The welcome pack has to be seen to be believed. it is outstanding all locally sourced and made by small companies in the Borders.
We spent a week in Abbey Mill, Melrose this May in a very well appointed house with a charming garden looking on to a field. The location was excellent with a short walk to the heart of Melrose with its historic and interesting High Street. The eating out options are amazing. We had dinner in the Townhouse Hotel- first rate menu and super service but book in advance as it is very popular. I would recommend trying the bakeries and delicatessans products- you can walk off the calories on the walks here which are well signposted. That is after the contents of the welcome pack in Abbey Mill. This is a great centre to explore the many delights of the Scottish Borders- can't wait to go back.
Abbey Mill is a perfect holiday let. 5 minutes from the centre of Melrose which is a small charming town with every amenity including delightful shops, excellent hotels and restaurants and even a railway station. It is also minute from the banks of the Tweed and the Southern Uplands Way with a great many traffic free walks starting immediately at both the front and rear doors of the house. The Condition and location of the property are both superb and it is very well equipped. Most highly recommended.
