Lovely cafe! Great scones, nice wee shop, good exhibition. Didn't have time on this occasion to wander round the gardens but saw short video in the exhibition and they looked lovely.

Absolutely agree with recent reviewers. Incredibly friendly staff who seem truly pleased to see you. Cafe is a gem; virtually everything is home-made, and for those who are gluten-intolerant there is a good range prepared by people who know what they're doing. Lots of information around. Two warnings though. 1. There are lots of hills on the site, but the views are surely worth it. 2. The only toilets are near the entrance. But, for the admission price it's frankly a steal.

Had an enjoyable visit here last week, had a light lunch in the cafe which was excellent then a stroll round the lovely gardens. Some of the azaleas are still to come into bloom so there will still be some lovely colours for quite a while yet.
If possible go on a nice day if you are viewing the gardens as it is nice to take time to look round them.
